So I’ve been mercless for a good few months And I needed a new daily driver, looked at a few W202s but couldn’t find a clean and tidy one And then this popped up for sale on here Spoke to the owner Nick and felt very comfortable with his description so decided to buy unseen I needn’t have worried on that as the car is exactly as Nick described Overall very tidy with the odd age related marks But crucially for this model next to no rust There’s just one small bubble on one rear arch Now most people that follow my threads will know I’m detailing obsessed and did this car need it!! The car was dirty from being sat for a while and had plenty of swirl marks in the paint I got it home and promptly got to work with the autofinesse clay bar kit, but I wasn’t happy and got my mop out and the car came up very well with a careful mop off Then washed off , I applied some autofinesse polish and now it’s looking very well Also cleaned all the door shuts and gave the interior a good clean I will decide on wheels soon , as the ones on it are kerbed up Original merc wheels required but mint ones to go with the nice bodywork Pleased I’ve got another W210 this is my third one and I like this shape more than the later W211 I had last year Big thanks to Nick who was a gentleman and very genuine person with a great sense of humour Enough rambling have some pics         |

I think you need to satin or even matt black it, and add some flames down the sides.
Make the wheels neon green, and fluffy seat covers.
Job done.

Does look tidy, I had a 320 diesel (I think it was) a few years ago and it was a great car, I hope you enjoy it.
Mine did have a random button that used to make the rear headrests fold down, first time a pressed it I got a fright because I didn't know what the button was for and I wasn't expecting it lol

Nice looking car Dan & a clean example of a W210.
Had a look at a few W210/S210 a few years back to use as the everyday car & couldn't find a rust free example back then.
Got to be one of the better colours for the w210 as it really shows off the body shape.

Ah,this is how the car should have looked while I had it,but never did...Sellers regret sets in...After the beginning of the last lockdown I hardly drove the car and not at all in the last 3 months.When Dan came to collect the car we spend
a happy hour sitting on London traffic,him driving and me marvelling how comfy the car is for a front passanger.I foolishly bought a 2002 Volvo V70 manual (being afraid of auto gearbox issues on Geartronics) in mistaken belief that the comfort should be comparable to W210...Let me make this clear : it is a rattly shitbox compared to W210 and the manual gearbox illuminates to me how old I became since owning my last manual car.Driving merc in heavy traffic I was a fairly reasonable old bloke listening to rednecky music,in a Volvo I am a raging lunatic with stiff clutch leg...I keep wondering if I should have kept the Merc SORNed forever.At least it couldn't have gone to a nicer guy...Off to cry in my pillow...

I was quite liking the look of it with the roof bars on as well. They were not roofbars but special aerodynamic spoilers to prevent vortexing at speeds over 200 mph...😁 |

I don’t like this lpg stuff ...I’m using petrol form now on with it I’ll just leave it on the car Whaat ? For me that was the best part...it does seem that atm the LPG prices are bit high,but generally it is half the price of petrol.I honestly did not even notice the difference in driving and it is all switching on automatically.I covered 14.000 miles in 2.5 years and never ever noticed it,or had a problem.I reckon it has saved me at very,very least 1700 quid in fuel cost. If my left leg gets stronger to handle (legle?) the clutch and I keep the crappy Volvo identical LPG kit will go on it...My God Dan,all the best things on the car you don't like - LPG,roofbars,err vortex prevention devices....  You even removed the protective layers of dirt and grime... |

A few small bits done today, engine bay cleaned and the usual favourite for me on Mercs change the front grille to black, always stands out better than drab grey Oh and rang a pal who has a few Mercs about a good set of wheels    |
