Hi guys! Hope you’re well well. Thought I would share a little YouTube video I made, delivering my friends Sherpa down to Northampton from Durham, and collecting my 1.8 VVC metro which I have owned for 10 years now. I lived in my Sherpa for a couple of years and would often hang out with Matt. Despite me telling him over and over again that he could get something way better for the money (the LDV Pilot truly is a donkey!).. he clearly fell in love with these strange little vans and needed one of his own. and the Metro. It was my first car and I still love it just as much as day 1. Hope I am posting this in the right place Peace! My Metro <3 My lil bus <3

I love a Sherpa/Freight Rover/Leyland DAF 200. Everywhere, once upon a time. Where I grew up, they were synonymous with the Provos. The later LDV Pilot variant was an awful thing.

Yep I can see the atraction, metros getting rare and great little motor especially upgraded with the vvc lump And ldv vans as said once everywhere I killed a couple in a previous job some 30 years ago whilst delivering parts for lex rover The bigger freight rover twin wheel was a great van I used many of them whilst driving for parcelforce In the early 90s

We had literally hundreds of them at the NCB in a variety of flavours. Pick-ups, high top mini buses (wow they were slow with a dozen colliers on board) vans & mines rescue ambulances etc etc. This pic is around 87

I'm on the look out for an early 80s lightweight 'Freight Rover Sherpa/200'. Think it would make a good daily for my purposes!

They make a great daily if you particularly like doing lots of welding & enjoy driving very slowly 😀 Funny how these things suddenly begin to look vaguely cool though, when they were everywhere, you didn’t look twice at them, just another van back then

Think it would go plenty fast enough with a 2.1xud in it.

Here's my new addition to the fleet, fell in love the moment I saw it. They look great in red though! Got me thinking
