Well.. I guess this won't be ready for Winther time. π The plates are off my summer car, so now I'm enjoying the comforts of public transportation! To be honest, it's not all that bad having other people drive me around. πͺ

Progress is slow, but it's there! Got the left side cleaned and painted. Did a few spots if surface rust, I missed previously. Bought some sheet metal, found two holes... I haven't welded in 15 years and don't own a welder, but that a minor issue π€£ Got some help from my dad and cousin pushing in new bushes and front wheel bearings. So big thanks for that, I don't have acces to that sort of equipment.

Got most of the interior out and ready for a much needed cleaning. So rented a carpet/furniture cleaner and since it's going to be raining for the foreseeable future I now have some nice and cosy inside work. I have also borrowed a welder and bought some metal. And with the interior out, all I need is some decent weather and some spare time. πͺ

With some great help from my dad, we got all the holes welded up today. Did not expect an opportunity this soon. It looked like it could start pouring down at any moment, all day. But luckily the clouds did not open up above us. πͺ

Shortly after the welding, I got started on cleaning the interior. This was a logical time since it was out due to welding anyways. Got it all nice and clean. And with the always understanding swmbo I got permission to dry the interior in the dining room! Drivers side carpet for comparison. Before: After:

What do you use for cleaning carpet? Results are very eye catching.

Got the towbar sorted. I don't have any before pictures, but take my word for it, is was really ugly and rusty with broken electrics. Should NOT have wire wheeled that mess in the garage... Also gave the bumpers some heat treatment π

And then went over it again with a carpet cleaner equipped with a small head for furniture. The soap was just what they said I had to buy so I would not destroy the cleaner.

Big milestone today! Interior is back in and got the car cleaned πͺ Just need to do the windows and maybe rent the carpet cleaner again to do the trunk. Also swapped the stereo with an old one I had laying i the garage.. it had some music from ten years ago on a SD card, so that was a trip down memory lane.

Found a big hole in the catalytic converter. So replaced the exhaust. And a comparison, though exhausts always look bad pretty quickly.. And with that swapped, I could finally call it done! Why on earth I've spent so much time and money on this old thing, I just can't tell.. But now I have a great old golden barge π It's rough around the edges still, and needs lots of small things sorted. But it's at long last ready to be driven. Just need to get it tracked, swapped new tyres and get it "synet" or a mot if you will. I guess it's only ready ish π€£ March 2021: January 2022:
