Tank you i have enjoyed reading som of your threads also Yeah we are looking forward to trying out the beaded seat cover it is really fun finding these little details, since modding the car is basically illegal so we have to make it special some other way Next thing we are hunting for is some retro chairs, like this ,to have with us in the boot as we go to shows etc.

So long time no see Some things have finally been done on the old Merc. The trim is now back together with a few cracks in the clear coat on the wood. But we much rather wanted this than loose trim and we most certainly did not want to splurge 3000 euro on a new trim set Other than that not much has happened apart from ordering a new exhaust that turned out not fitting probably to the extend that the car was sent to the Mercedes specialist from which we ordered the part from. So right now it sound awful XD. We did manage to put on around 300 miles before that where she drove just fine List of jobs that could need doing but isn't necessary - New radio - Only half the lights in the cabin works - Fix the climate control (probably just a refill) - Fix the Cruise control - Fix the steering rack joint that needs grease - Repainting the bumpers - Head gasket But when the exhaust is finished i think we will just enjoy it for the time being

Nice one, must be bloody expensive to run that in DK though! They can be especially if you import them now, the danish goverment charge you a tax based on how high the original price was back in the day so cheap cars are cheap to import and expensive cars are now insane. this was imported in the 90's so no problem here but importing a new one would be maybe 10.000 pounds in tax to register it. Where it was maybe a quarter of that before. Gas prices for one, is also crazy in Denmark, when you fill the 90 liter tank with octane 99 it will costyou about 120 pound But cars in Denmark is in general bloody expensive as an example a BMW m3 coupe from 2010 with 100k miles will cost you 50.000+ pounds When I was working in Copenhagen, I took my Range Rover over on one trip rather than flying. Took me a while to work out why people were gawking at it when I was parked up. Finally realised, it had rear seats, so I must be a millionaire! In Denmark, stuff like the RR came without rear seats, so they could enjoy lower tax.

What a beautiful car. I have a major soft spot for W126s. My friend has a 280SE in yellow with a green interior - I love it when I get to ride in it. Wouldn't mind one of my own!
You did good so far!

Exactly and especially when the Porsche Cayenne came out you would see them everywhere You are so damn lucky in Britain, cheap cars and on top of that you get to modify them to XD

Occasionally, I'd buy Auto Trader (all car adverts) at the airport, take it over and leave it in the crew room, sit back and watch my Danish colleagues get really annoyed at UK car prices!
Naughty, but funny.
I'd forgotten about the Cayenne, yes by the end of my time there in 2005, there was a lot of them, all with two seats!

So I think it is time for an update on the W126 She has recently bin sold on due to the finances not adding up. If we wanted it as prestine as it deserved it would end up costing more than the car is currently worth and the time to fix it up simply is hard to find due to both of us now having small children. Therefore it went to a dealer that fixed some of the thing and it has since then bin sold. The reason we purchased it to begin with was because it was a good deal and a way to get into the classic car ownership but it has never actually bin that specific car we wanted. So what to replace it with.... My fathers first car was a mk2 Austin mini or as they were called in denmark Morris Mascot 850 and we have always looked for a mini but wanted a bit more power than the 850. So when this popped up we agreed to split it three ways between me, my brother and my father, only stipulation was that me and my brother wanted something rustfree and minimum the 998cc and my father wanted it in red

List of things done by previous owners: - KAD Short shift - 10' inch Minilites - Electronic ignition - Open airfilter maybe KN - HS4 Carburator (cooper) - Aluminium inlet - 12G295 heads (cooper) - Adjusta ride - Wipac lights - Cpl. RC40 exhaust - Maniflow exhaust manifold - Motolita steering wheel - Aftermarket dashboard - Leather seats Faults: - Leaking somewhere from the engine - Hood is hard to close - A bit orange peel in the roof paint - There is no ventilation in the cabin, probably hidden behind the dash - Sooo noisy, needs sound proofing as anything above 50 mph is unbearable but it dos sound nice from the outside
