I first bought this Lexus in 2018, found it on facebook marketplace not far from me for decent money and it was black, turned up in near darkness but the car looked decent, drove well, two keys, owner was honest so I bought it
didn't really need it, a bit of an impulse buy, like most stuff I buy. I did previously have one as a commuter for about 3 years and it was great:
Put some 5zigen wheels on it
Then I didnt really use it and one of my friends bought it off me, he kept it for a few months but didnt use it a lot either so I bought it off him and brought it back home with help from my super saab
Put some work euroline wheels on it and lowered it on tein lowering springs with new shocks
Thennnn, didn't really use it and put it up for sale on here
And the guy who bought it off me kept in touch, he changed the headgasket, cam belt, serviced it and a few other bits but he got a top end tick when he put it back together, got a bit disheartened with it and sold it back to me last summer, it was either that or he was going to let someone rip it apart and banger race it....
I had to go get it back
So I got it home, changed the vvti solenoid as I was told that could be the issue but it wasnt. took the rocker covers off to have a look but couldn't see anything obvious. It's really odd because it goes away sometimes...
But anyway, I'll probably get a professional look at its engine woes. Or yeet the engine for a fresher one if its too much bother
Last week I spotted a lip kit for sale for it, bought it and I started test fitting today
The plan is to make sure the kit fits ok, take it off, clean the car underneath and on top, get the engine sorted and an mot then paint it, not sure whether I should just keep it black or go for something different yet.
