So having finally moved house I now have a new garage/workshop.
Its a lot smaller than the old one but still a decent size but the area we have moved to is a lot quieter than where we were before and the people around here don't (I would say anyway) do much work themselves so probably aren't going to appreciate the noise of me restoring old cars.
To that end I want to try and do something to improve the garage to sound proof it a bit and also make it a bit warmer.
I need to get some pictures but in summary its attached to the house, has single brick walls with strengthening pillars in a couple of places and has trusses with a tiled roof.
The doors are typical up and over type.
Has anyone had any success soundproofing a garage and if so what did you use?
I'm thinking of sound bloc plaster board on the ceiling with rock wool above and possibly building some stud partitions slightly inside the walls and filling them with some form of solid board insulation with sound block over them. Then some form of solid insulation fixed to the garage doors.
Any thoughts?
