A house in Bolton, big house, big garden, sheds and workshop which are full of tools and cool stuff.
Belonged to a certain F Dibnah, he got the key this week.
I have to say I am jealous.

A pretty famous house! I was sad when the heritage centre closed a couple of years ago and so much was sold off. I wonder what your mate of a mate hopes to do with it!

bookmarked, we brought a house with some outbuildings/sheds and although nothing of value when ever we needed something tweaking repairing or bodging ( mainly bodging ) we could always find the perfect thing in one of the sheds for years So i can only imagine what your mate of a mate will find even if nothing of importance or value it will be great digging through.

When we purchased a block of land almost adjoining our house block we told the vendor not to bother clearing out the junk. Over the last ten years we've found all manner of interesting things.

As soon as you said "a house in Bolton" I just knew that the name Fred Dibnah was going to follow. He genuinely is one my all-time hero's.....I'm not sure if hero is the right word....but I'll use it anyway.
I use one of his saying all the time....and it's this one:
"If it looks right....then it probably is right!". ( as in there's no need to measure something to perfection )
He apparently he started using it after he read that Brunel use to say it??

Spent many hours playing in Fred’s back garden back in the 70s and 80s, my dad was a good friend of his and made some bespoke parts for his first engine Alison.
I used to play in all his sheds and workshops playing a game called pirates with his Daughters.
When we eventually moved from Salford to Bolton I ended up in the same class as his daughter Launa.
Great memories of my dad and Fred and being young.
Ps I only live about 2 miles away to this day and went for a look round his sheds the other year 👍.
