Up for reluctant sale is my Triumph Herald 13/60, I’ve owned the car for approximately 3 years during which it has been a pleasure to take to shows and days out.
I bought it from a chap who had kept it garaged but unused, so as soon as it was delivered to me I set about replacing all fluids, ignition system, rubber hoses and tyres. Throughout my ownership I’ve maintained the car myself, most notably changing all the UJ’s (both prop and drive shafts), modern H4 headlights, as well as fit a full width aluminium radiator. The previous owner has fitted a stainless steel exhaust.
The chassis and body are solid, and no welding is required. The underbody has minor surface rust, but this could be easily treated in a weekend and is a long way off becoming an issue. The car is very presentable from a distance and in photos, however up close the paintwork isn’t great, suffering from some cracking, scratches etc. The interior is in generally good condition, other than the dashboard which has been repaired on the upper part. The only other notable issue is the heater control cable has snapped, as I only used the car in the summer this wasn’t an issue.
This is a good usable classic, which benefits from MOT/TAX exemption, low insurance and running costs, and brilliant maintenance and spares support.
