When my dad first moved to Spain about 20 years ago these were every where

Very nice When my dad first moved to Spain about 20 years ago these were every where Now they are no where to be seen :-( Yeah they’re pretty rare in Italy and Former Yugoslavia too (where they were also built). Apparently they’ve got cult car status in Spain now! |

 Earlier today, washed and shiny! It was originally white but was fully resprayed by the previous owner, along with an Abarth exhaust and a twin downdraught carb which he installed prior to my ownership. |

I like that a lot. And I think the color is cool too. I've had many 500's, 600's, and 850's and one of them was this Seat.  It was my daily driver for a while, and I also did some long distance trips in Europe in it. I usually modified them right away with a 127 engine swap, etc, but I kept this one mostly stock. ( I did switch out panels for better ones, whenever I found some ) It was a good reliable car. I've had some good ones ( my yellow 500, a red Zastava, this Seat and a beige 850 ), and some bad ones ( the worst one was a black Zastava ). This was when build quality from car to car could vary a lot. |

I lived in Alicante 1972-74. I had many rides in Seat 600's, usually with my neighbor Carmina driving. She didn't practice defensive driving every. I suppose the driving gloves she wore were a hint. In about 60 times I rode with her she had 3 fender benders. Exciting at all speeds! They all seemed bo be white.

When I lived out there, 1998 -2013, there were loads of Spanish owners clubs, remember passing over 50 of them driving up the A3 from from Valencia towards Madrid, uphill section, but they were all flying along.

Absolutely love these, always have since seeing countless Spanish ones in 80s holidays as a kid.
Would love to import one.....even if I would feel ridiculous driving it.
