It's that time again, late due to extended MOT. In at 10am out at 11am Passed 1 advisory for slight play in a rear wheel bearing otherwise all clear. Not bad for a 32 year old

We had no doubts, but this thread is worthless without pics.

Not a proud MOT pass picture though. That said, knowing Jimi it wont look that much worse.

Glad you've remembered. Non of the MOT places I know are including us are anywhere near as busy as they should be clearing a 6 month backlog.

Well done!
The Herald ran out at the start of May but I've not had time to get it in for an MOT until end of last week. I've replaced a large amount of chassis and played with the fuel system instead.
Despite doing so few miles recently that the last time I filled it up was June, it passed cleanly.
Feels good doesn't it!
The Acclaim went through clean in November, which just leaves the van for January, the C5 next week and the TR6 to get through which failed many months ago in rot...

I still need to get my e39 530i inspection done. Ran out in May. Helps that it's not been driven since February, but still it'd be nice to have the option.

Glad you've remembered. Non of the MOT places I know are including us are anywhere near as busy as they should be clearing a 6 month backlog. Is it just that people aren’t using their cars? My extension ran out in November and when I had it tested my place said they were packed.

A few days ago, this went through first time after 18 months due to the covid extension Glad you've remembered. Non of the MOT places I know are including us are anywhere near as busy as they should be clearing a 6 month backlog. Is it just that people aren’t using their cars? My extension ran out in November and when I had it tested my place said they were packed. I had to book 3+ weeks in advance...

Well done on the pass, great feeling isn't it. My daily was due in Feb, and got an extension, but I MOT'd it in April when it was due a service. The MR2 ws due in July and I totally forgot about it until the email reminder came in last week, wasn't due till Jan but I'd rather deal with it now. I'll probably put it through again around June/July to move the anniversary away from winter time. I booked it on Friday last week and got offered Mon, Tues, Wed

My local and classic friendly tester of choice is also rammed, with a 3 week wait for a booking! If they are any good, they'll be busy!

We're absolutely rammed with other work, just not MOTs. The other garages I know are the same, flat out with repairs but not many MOTs.

Pretty much the same at most places round here, stacked with work, but MOT's are quiet. Here you go Tommy, taken this morning, as you know it's very rare to see it as dirty as this

Thanks peeps Some small points of note (at least to me) May 2021 will be the 17th anniversary of my ownership of this MK1, in that time I have MOT'd it 16 times (at the same place) of the 16, 14 times have been by the same examiner. It's failed 3 times that I remember: Corroded front brake pipes (replaced) Rear offside bottom ball joint (both sides replaced) Emissions (turned out to be replacement silicon vacuum lines I had fitted were allowing air in, replaced with good quality lines) Our journey together continues

Your last post inisunates you had the car since it was 15 years old. Fair play! There has to be respect for folks who keep their cars that long! The M3 I owned from its 15th birthday. We'll see if I can keep that as long as your Mister 2. A great result on the pass .
