In a dark corner of mu dad's garage attic I found a 4 wheel set for wheel alignment with rulers on them. (see picture for one of the 4, it was darp there and I have to bring it down later this week) I also know that he has somewhere a device which you can put on a wheel hub to check camber. ( of such a device is an example, not the actual one) What do I need more (beside a level floor) to do accurate wheel alignment? Doe anybody have a manual for these and is willing to scan it? Thanks, Thom

I'd want something a lot more precise than that for setting camber. Having done a number of Vx Omega front suspension rebuilds, which need the camber to be carefully set I made this: Which is an aluminium disc turned to fit inside the wheel centre bore, held in with a magnet epoxied to the back face, and a sheet steel cover stuck to the front. Once in place on the wheel, it allows a basic magnetic digital angle gauge to directly read the camber to 0.1°: I zero the gauge on the slam panel. Omegas need the whole 4 wheel alignment done, but each time the cars have been put on a machine, the camber has been within a couple of minutes of what this gauge set it to. Cost was an offcut of ally and steel sheet, a neodymium magnet and a few minutes on the lathe. Plus the gauge, but I already had that for machining jobs. I did start making a similar tool with a laser to read both the camber and toe on a flag placed at the end of the sill, but never finished it

Is there a mirror somewhere in that wheel-alignment equipment? Maybe similar to the Dunlop gauge that I was given a while back, I did find a guide on how to use that (or a slightly different version of it) somewhere on line.
