1975 JAGUAR XJ6 COUPE (XJ4.2C) WINTER PROJECT (Possible PX with cash my way)
I desperately wanted to finish this one, but personal circumstances mean something has to go. This is a rare XJ6 2 door coupe, made even rarer due to the fact that it isn’t rotten. Someone with some time will have this done by spring. The car is in Bournemouth.
I bought this a couple of years ago and used it a bit before converting from auto to 5 speed using all Jag parts, it then became my daily driver for a while. It came to me with a 4.2 from a Series 3 running on carbs.
Last year I decided to sort out a few issues, the main one being some overheating, so I pulled the engine and while it was out decided to clean up the engine bay and rebuilt the front suspension, which has been polybushed and treated to new Gaz adjustable shocks and Eibach lowered springs.
The front end sheet metal has been stripped to bare metal, seam-sealed undersealed and painted. There was some bubbling in the rear arches and at the bottom of the C pillars, so I stripped it all back and found some old repairs, but no rot. This is a solid car.
The engine is good apart from a snapped head stud that needs sorting.
Interior is good in red leather, the drivers seat has some split stitching but there are no tears in the leather. It will need carpets.
The car is still pretty much in the state you can see in the build thread:

Price
10k firm. I gave £12k for this car 2 years ago and I’ve spent a lot more since. I’m not expecting to get my money back but equally I’m not going to let it go for nothing. Find another with a shell this solid that isn’t £20k.
Please note that the price does not include the Weber carbs, the car will come with twin SUs and an AED.
Part Exchange
I’ll consider a part exchange with cash my way on something interesting. I have a particular fetish for Triumph 2000/2500, but something like a Rover P6 or SD1, Scimitar, Herald, 2 door Minor… You get the idea. Only cars that are usable please. I don’t have the time or space for another project.
And please remember that I’m moving this on because I need the cash, so any PX will have to be mostly cash my way.
