1998 Landcruiser Colarado 3.0D Offroad/Daily

This old truck has done the most mileage ive done in a vehicle in many years. Ive had pretty much trouble free miles since the radiator was replaced and its been up and down to Mid Wales with me marshalling at the rally stage. Its pulled its fair share of rally car out of ditches the past few months.













Its been a good two and bit months since our last green laning trip so I hooked up with a few mates to tackles some unclassified roads and by-ways in the Wye valleys which was very tight and tricky but great fun. I was quite fortunate as those lane were very tight and i often use the motorway yet my driver lower ball joint decided to fail at 6mph whilst visiting Castle Combe Circuit. The Arch sat straight on the tyre and the 2 tonne truck was going no where. Luckily i know a lot of the circuit staff and they got a flat bed organised during raceday to get it to my mates round the corner....heroes.

I had my mate at Langley4x4 swap out both side with new items. Factory ball joints are sealed units so we put in new items but with grease nipples hoping to stop this happening in futture.







I then had my exhaust system break on the rear joiner between the two sections, purely down to age and the exhaust rotting out at the joint.







So it was off to local fabricators Infinity-Exhausts for a custom made stainless centre and rear sections. I opted to leave out the tiny pointless silencer on the rear and a slightly smaller mid silencer. I also went up by .25" on bore size of the system to aid with flow up to 2.5". It sounds a bit deeper but not much louder and the truck does feel a bit smoother to driver. I also had it fitted as close to the body as possible to help with ground clearance. The system cost £370 and is a free flow system with life time warranty. Its made by the same guys who previously did my snorkel.
