Hi guys,
So as per the last post on my "build" thread, my MR2 is up for sale. Please have a quick look so you can see where I started and where the car is now. This should hopefully give you a decent idea of spec, mods and what it needs.
The basics:
- Mk2 MR2 - 1998 Rev5
- 2.0l 3SGE (non-turbo) manual 5sp
- 135k (ish)
- MOT til June 2021
Mods:
- 40mm lowering springs
- 16x8 et20 Rota Grids
- 5mm spacers front
- 20mm spacers rear
- 205/45 NS2R's front
- 225/45 NS2R's rear
- Stainless exhaust with decat
- TRD engine brace
- TRD-style spoiler with genuine carbon blade
- Greddy-style front lip
- Custom intake with Ramair filter
Other:
- Full service with genuine Toyota filters/fluids and plugs >500m ago (panel filter still in box due to Ramair filter being used)
- Comes with leather driver's seat, leather passenger seat in parts (good nick but dismantled to make custom subframe for bucket seat) (bucket not included, sorry)
- Pair of cloth seats in average condition, could do with a clean due to storage
- Stock exhaust and cat included
- Stock intake set up with resonator boxes included
- Stock springs included
- Rev1/2/3 wheels and tyres included, poor condition due to previous paintjob but good for winter wheels or just rolling about if needed
- USB/CD head unit
- Plenty of history with original Toyota handbooks etc a lot of main dealer/Toyota approved work
Points to note:
- Paint is in overall good condition but certainly not perfect, some sunburn here and there (worst is the bootlid) black vinyl wrap included to rectify this if wanted
- Slight knock offside rear, believed to be either ARB bush or droplink (an inexpensive fix but unfortunately not something I have gotten around to sorting)
- Plastic dash surround has been painted poorly and is missing a vent (believe would be around £45 for replacement plastics from eBay or owners pages)
- Offside rear arch is ugly but not beyond repair, would need cutting out and welding to fully rectify
- Offside rear "cosmetic" sill is also ugly with rust but I have been told this is NOT an MOT fail as it is not actually part of the sill, it's a single-skin extension which goes beyond where the actual sill ends. Odd to explain but happy to show you.
- It has been up on the ramp when I first bought it and it is a very solid and honest car.
Summary:
I think the best way to describe this car is that it is an "honest" example. It's not perfect but it will happily get you wherever you want to be in relative comfort whilst being pokey enough to have some fun and not being ruinously expensive on fuel. Being a 90's Toyota, it's built like a tank and I'd be surprised if anything catastrophic ever went wrong if routine maintenance is kept up with.
There are a couple of bits to keep you busy should you wish to make a mint example, equally you could drive this car to any track or shows as is, and still have a laugh.
Pricewise - I believe £2750.00 is fair, considering it is the last of the Mk2's with average mileage. The few modifications I have made could easily be taken off if you wanted to return it to factory spec whilst giving you a fair few quid back to do so.
If it is of interest, and you do decide to take it on, either a large car, people-carrier or small van would be required for the spares which I am selling with the car. They're probably worth maybe £200 on their own.
Apologies, I am not able to upload further pics at the moment but happy to provide via whatsapp/email/PM, there are plenty on the thread above however.
Kind regards
Marcus
