Hi all.
New to this forum. Huge BMW Nutter here! I do have a small collection of 90's BMW's in my inventory. 2 E39 Touring's. One is my 1997 528i Touring Manual (Rare) in Calypso Red. My daily is a 2001 525d SE Touring Auto in Titan Silver. I will also get my hands on a rare 1995 E34 525i Sport Manual in Daytona Violet with factory LSD. I also know someone with a rare Amoured E39 540 that I will be keeping an eye on.
Anyway.
Here's my 1999 BMW 740i Base in Cosmos Black with black interior. I have been on the lookout for a Black facelift 740 at the beginning of 2020. I'd viewed a few but they didn't quite hit the mark. (They wern't black ones).
Anyway. The bonus of this car was the options it has.
This includes but not limited to...
1. Xenons
2. Electric seats with steering column adjustment & memory. Heated front seats and this car has active seats from the factory.
3. Navigation. With upgraded BM54 radiomodule, DVD navigation computer, and Widescreen monitor.
4. DSP sound system. With upgraded DSP2 amp.
5. Factory fitted Motorola V50 flip phone (Front).
6. Voice activation.
7. Factory Chromeline package with chrome kick plates.
8. Glass sunroof.
9. Green tinted upper strip windscreen.
10. M-Par Style 37 wheels. (Sold by previous owner)
11. Rear seat door/curtain airbags.
12. Wood grab handles.
It also has AV in/out plug and FAX port (Remember that?)
The previous owner replaced the factory 4 prong steering wheel with a sport one. He had the bottom section hydro dipped with a real nice wood effect.
The grey headliner had been replaced with a Anthracite one. Unfortunately it didn't come with the sun roof slider panel. Quite rare glass sunroof models with black headliners. Same applies with the black grab handles with wood inserts. This car has standard black ones. I have the original grey ones that have wood. I will re paint them black... No sweat!!!
Alpina springs and dampers all round. Alpina rep front chin spoiler.
As I said. The original wheels, M-Pars were sold when he fitted a set of Style 95's. Later a set of 20" Style 32's from an E65/66. Not a fan of them so I made a deal to have them removed. I'm going with 19" E53 X5 Style 132 route.
So heres the car in her current state. 16" wheels make a world of difference with ride quality but don't do my street cred any justice. TuPac wouldn't approve 😅
Having said that. I do drive around in grandads silver estate diesel. It is lower then standard and it does have shadowline trim!!!
Kidding. It's mine really....
It's all working progress so I'll update as I go along.
