I've been lurking for a few months, hopefully she's not to new? Going to be an ongoing project, although mostly done by last owner, still one of 2 bits to do

Can you tell us some more about your experience with it?

Excellent, I really like these. Can you tell us some more about your experience with it? I came the proud owner during lock down part 1 in June, I've had a V8 itch that I've wanted to scratch for a few years. I didn't want a LHD american, but also didn't want german, so limited me to a few possiblities. Anyhow decided to find a nice Monaro, model unimportant, so after a few months of quizzing associated forums etc, was pointed towards this one. Its a rare car it's 1 of only 21 red 5.7 VXR monaro's made by HSV for the UK. It's had quite a bit of engine work, Livernois CNC LS2/6 Cylinder Heads Livernois double valve springs Trunion bearing upgrade Comp Cams VRX5 Camshaft (236/238 .601/.605 113+2) Comp Cams hardened pushrods Comp Cams 850 Lifters 36lb/hr fuel injectors Pro Flow 1 7/8 Long Tubes stainless manifolds with 100 cell sports cats Wortec cat back 75mm MAF Ls6 Inlet and TB and it sounds devine ;-) Currently sorting the underside over winter as I intend to keep it a while, having the propshaft rebuilt, with new UJ's and balancing. replacement trans mountings and as much of the bushings as required as the previous owner has done quite a lot so far.

A bit more tinkering over the last week, fitted rebuilt propshaft and new trans mounting, amazing delivery speed from an American supplier called Rockauto, ordered Sunday 31st Oct, delivered to me in UK Wed 4th Nov, excellent. The prop was recon'd by a company in Leeds D&F propshafts, new UJ's checked the alignment as they're a 2 piece, rebalanced and painted www.propshaft.co.ukNew bonnet lifting struts fitted, was good to find they are the same as ones fitted to the Omega's so readily available and inexpensive :-) Test drove and all vibration I had at circa 50/60mph has gone, now to move on and prepare, clean an polish ready for next spring as she's hibernating now as the Aussies don't like salty, cold winter roads. Keep wondering if its worth doing a big brake conversion, it seems the 'thing to do' with these cars as they are apparently underbraked, not had any issues yet, but if I do I'm not sure what way to go as an AP kit is a few grand, they're must be something OEM on another make of car that would fit the bill perhaps?
