Please forgive me. I seemed a good idea at the time. I was pressured in to it. They said it couldn’t be done. Ok that the excuses out the way. Now I’m aware this may ruffle a few feathers. Also this is going to be mainly a pic heavy thread.

Found in some bushes on a farm. Had been used for a parts car many years ago and then forgotten about. Rust was a understatement. No paperwork, no axels or running gear except a seized solid gearbox. A real basket case. And I actually had to give a weeks wages to take it away. But there was a plan. 12 weeks after these pictures Were taken there was a memorial meeting for stan woods at stoke speedway/ banger track. All pre 75 cars in the spirit of how banger meeting of the 70’s/ 80’s used to be. If we could get it rebuilt and on track it would be the oldest car ever to be raced in a Full contact Class.

I'm not really a massive banger fan, but looking forward to this. Really interesting to see the state of affairs before we see it out on track in shiny paint crying "that's too nice to race"

Really nice to have some positive reply’s to this. I know it’s not to a vast majority’s tastes especially on a forum such as retro rides. And I’m fully aware there are a small selection of people on here who have the skills to make it in to a hotrod or such like. To the rest of us mere mortles tho a car in this state would never see the road again. What follows in the next instalment is a mix match of parts fabricated/bodged together to make this wreck of rust in to a vehicle that firstly wouldn’t kill me and secondly could move under its own power at a fair rate of speed. Thanks for not sending out a pitch folk wielding mob to hunt me down.

Due to a combination of being sat so long, dragging out of the undergrowth and a possible front end shunt years ago the whole chassis and shell were twisted and out of shape. We started at the back axel to get something straight and to give us a starting point to get everything square.

Father Savaloy says 'say 10 Delage D8-120's and 20 Ballot Berlines as pennance!'
Cracking effort and can't wait to see what you do with her.
