Hey Guys, Started the old girl up yesterday and wasnt too pleased to hear the sound of the exhaust blowing raspberry's at me!! so i'm guessing a new exhaust is going to have to be fitted at some point soon, however what do i do? bang a replacement standard one on.... or put a Bigger one on?? Nothing too silly of course, after all its not a Saxo! Does anyone know a good source of exhausts in general and of course modded ones? I'm running a 4-2-1 system off a 1600 X-Flow lump....
Any ideas, or suggestions, post away!

I had a demon tweeks system on my Mk1 mexico many years back. Once the engine was rolling road tuned properly it sounded lovely. Used to set car alarms off as it went past! Not stupid big pipe as that was not the style back in the day...
I can't imagine they don't still make them.

Ashley (as Hairnet says) - nice and cheap! There must be stacks of info out there for Mk2 Escort exhausts I'd have thought. I always envy the Ford guys as there's such a massive tuning scene with great parts availability and knowledge ;D.

That's what I done & after a couple back & forth they offered me a deal on the manifold & full twin system for £130 all in ;D ;D Delivered in 2 days aswell & a mate of mine has used them several times & is more than happy with them!!!!

hello there many moons ago i had a 1600 sport in need of a full system.i got mine from peter lloyd rallying.think he still has ads in the rally mags.it was quite cheap too.anyhoo it was a two box system with scrape plates.the 2 1/2 would be the diameter of the pipe sections all the way through.mine set car alarms off too.hee hee.how simple things can cheer up grown men.

Yeah, the 2" or 2 1/2" refers to the pipe diameter of the system. I would imagine the 2" would be more than sufficient for your needs & obviously the twin box will/should [ ] be quieter. I've the twin & it is loud yet easy enough not to make your ears ring!!!!! That depends how often the car is used really I 'spose?? The ''3 inch S/Steel'' just refers to the tailpipe finish - as standard it's just 2" black like the rest of the system ;D
