Hey all,
Over previous years, I took the plunge and decided to do a full engine rebuild on my 190e cosworth. After spending a fortune on that with forged high comp pistons, up-rated cams and tons more, it has turned in to a bit of a perfection sort of deal to me. I purchased some shaftless 50mm AT Power/ rennsport throttle bodies and am now getting to the point where I am putting all of this together.
Now, the technical part about this, which may seem extremely minor to some, but since I have already gone to the effort that I have, I don't want to skip the thought process over what may seem like minor items. but lose out on a few additional BHP.
How are you meant to calculate the size of an airbox for ITBS? The more I seem to read, the more confused I seem to get. ( I am a mechanical engineer by trade, so this is worrying really )
There is so much to think about in terms of the volume, the inlet size in to the air box, flow, resonance etc...
I have seen a Reverie Interlagos carbon air box which is 9 litres in volume, but only has a 100mm inlet to the box, would this be enough?
Any help/ previous experience would be a huge help.
Cheers, Ross.
