After everybody around me getting one I took the plunge and bought myself a camper.
The one I went for is 1991 T4 Autohomes Koncord 4 birth high top. It is a 2L petrol with just over 46k on the clock with MOTs showing its done around 1000 miles a year since 2003. It's sat in 18" wheels with a slight lower but nothing too excessive. Pretty much everything seems to work as you would expect apart from the fridge which won't work on battery and as of yet I'm still not convinced I want to try it on gas.
It drives great a little on the heavy side with the 18"s and no power steering but once it's moving it drives great. The Alfa MOMO seat fitted in the front are super comfortable too.
It has some work needed like the rear hatch has a dent in it and the ladder has had to be removed as it is also bent in whatever incident dented the hatch. I also don't have any heat as the temp cable has snapped at the slider end and the cable for an early T4 appears to be unobtainium. The gel coat on the high top is a bit flaky on one spot too but still water tight.
Other than those couple of things I'm super happy with it and my son loves it. He'd sleep in it parked on the drive if I'd let him.
