So decided to start a thread On this 1995 escort estate I got offered the car from a pal In the motor trade a year ago I turned it down and then forgot about it Until a few weeks ago when my son asked if my mate Dean still had the car It flicked a switch on in my head so I phoned my pal and the answer was “yes come to my house make me an offer it’s been sat in my garage too long The car is a one owner car since new with 46,000 miles And full history, my mate was given it a few years ago the owner was one of his customers and sadly passed away The wife gave it to my pal, but he has never had the time to spend on it With the escort van not needing much and my mg going into hibernation I kind of figured the escort needed me! We went over tonight and brought it home There’s something appealing about estate cars to me lately So my plans are to get it back In tip top condition A small 40mm drop on ford softline alloys which luckily I’ve bought of my son George I built up some front legs for it at the weekend And have some rear springs In our collection of escort bits Plenty of updates to come as ever with my old ford rebuilds Tbf the bodywork wants for nothing other than a damn good clean and the interior needs a decent going over I just love the 90s beige interior colour! 1.6 zetec power is fine and will stay absolutely stock Enough waffle , a few pics

Looking forward to this, can't remember the last time I saw a mk5, had the saloon on a K plate and loved it.

It had crossed my mind about colour coding the bumpers But after seeing the thread on here about original black bumpers I’ve decided to get them cleaned up with some linseed oil and leave them standard factory spec Bits ready to go on this weekend

So thats what a £200 car looks like Dan, 😉
Of course the wheels, both design and colour have my attention, along with the fact its a wagon.
They rule, more than a lot of other stuff.
Good catch

I ran one of these for well over 10 years and a huge mileage, very reliable but terribly bland driving experience. Very practical and looks much better than the equivalent saloon.

Good catch £200??!!! No chance not with any ford these days I’m afraid £200 would buy you four wheel nuts and that’s about it

Top save Dan. Think the gold wheels will look great against the green, especially with the suspension tuck.

So what do you do when you know you’ve got a new toy at home But you still need to do a days work?........yep get it done as quick as possible cut a few corners and get home by . 2.30pm to crack on! Decided the best course of action was to get cleaned up and access what I’ve bought before getting really stuck and spending a few quid on it So a good jet wash then hand wash followed by a good claybar I didn’t want to mop it but the roof will definitely need mopping Saturday Apart from that it’s coming up well Found some dubious mud like substance in the spare wheel well And lots of straw from the time it’s spent locked in a farm building Stunk not to pleasant! Well pleased all the usual rot spots are clean as a whistle Just surface rust underneath and a small bit of welding has been done on an inner sill But seems very well sorted So it’s full steam ahead with the plans for it now The bumpers also responded well to a bit of treatment with some autofinesse gel stuff I borrowed from my sons kit!

Would love an estate, especially slightly lowered with ford alloys...even considering selling my fiesta now.

Would love an estate, especially slightly lowered with ford alloys...even considering selling my fiesta now. I’d keep the fiesta And try to get the cash for an escort both are now sought after motors I developed a thing for the late escorts once we’d bought the van three years ago Now prices are on the increase , late three doors especially And the estate is sought after in ford circles now too
