1978 Peugeot 104 GL
5 door hatchback, 954cc Petrol
37,500 miles on the clock, Tax and MOT exempt. V5 is present and in my name (3 previous keepers).
Now a very rare sight in the UK, this little 104 needs a full restoration, having not been on the road since 1999 (according to the tax disc in the windscreen). It is, however, highly complete and original. It starts, runs and I have driven it in and out of the workshop a few times but no further as the braking system needs a complete overhaul – the handbrake works though. It is currently running on an SU carburettor as the original Solex is unfortunately missing.
There is rust to the A-pillars, boot floor corners, rear arches and front scuttle panel, plus some non-structural rust to the door bottoms and tops of the front wings. It is all repairable though and important areas like the sills, main floors, boot lid, chassis legs and so on are all solid. I have lots of photos of the problem areas so please ask and I can send them on. This would be an excellent project to learn/teach yourself welding and body repair on.
The interior is complete, even down to the luggage cover for the boot and the intact headlining. Everything appears to be working, except the interior light. The front seat squabs have obviously seen better days, but these are salvageable and replacements can be had from France quite easily.
This will be an excellent little unusual project for someone, I intended to complete the restoration myself but a sudden and unexpected change in circumstances has lead to me losing storage so I regrettably am having to let this one go.
Car will need to be trailered away, I can assist with arranging this (at buyers cost).
I have a few spares as well which are available by separate negotiation.
I am happy to answer any questions you may have and am open to sensible offers. Feel free to call/email any time.
