Someone way before me decided to smooth the front of the Car off and then add some Escort bumpers to the front... all that aside, they also seemed to add what I'm told are 5w side repeaters as indicators. I can tell you nobody can see these things flash when your coming towards them. Now the car is back on the road I really want to change these bulb holders for something that is 21w like a normal indicator. I went to my local auto electrics place and they hadnt got anything to fit (he was a bit confused about the whole matter too) I feel like for a couple of quid I should be able to: cut these existing bulb holders off, buy some universal/standard bulb holder that will be a million times better, then just place them in these existing bumpers no need to modify anything else right? I'm pretty sure someone just cut the original lights off to put these on there for some reason. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm not bothered about original Capri bulb holders as I'm sure the value is triple what they're worth unless anyone has a couple they don't want for a few quid. I've been looking on sites like this but not really sure what I should buy. Any help is appreciated. www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/product_list/81Heres a few pics

what is the hole on the back of each unit like? Bigger bulb holder possibly Failing that, the T10 or 501 type bulb you have there could be replaced with an Osram LED, or if there is room a T15 bulb is 16w with the same size base

I would suggest having a word with the guys at www.classiccarleds.co.uk/ - they might have something that fits that holder with a decent output.

Pretty sure the bulb holders for those lights should be bigger.Google 382 bulb holders image.A 5 watt bulb in the front isn’t really powerful enough.Might be worth looking on car builder solutions site as they do a lot of kit car parts.

I think the 308 style bulb holder is what I was thinking. will look at the back of the bumpers that are on it today too. these don't really fit that well in those bumpers and they flash too quickly.
Did think about going down a scrap yard and cutting some off an older car if I can find one... not sure if new cars are different fittings

When you say 308 do you mean 380.If so the 380 is a twin filament version of 382..Generally 70’s 80’s fords used a plastic bulb holder with a 2 or 3 way fitting .You can use either just by a little filing of holder.Paul.

Apologies I was supposed to write 382 like you said before. Hadn't had my morning coffee I'll look around to see what I can find. I'll phone a couple of other parts places local to see if they have anything too.

The 921 bulb should go straight in to those bulb holders if you don't want to get involved in faffing with wiring and swapping bulb holders

I'll have to check what bulbs I have already. I just thought I might need a bigger bulb/standard 21w if these holders are producing 5w with the bulb?
