Hi folks
Seemingly like most people on this forum I have multiple vehicles and eclectic tastes. I have already written about my BMW 540. At the other end of the speed spectrum is my Commer PB van.
I bought this van last year. I don't need a camper van as I already have a Merc Sprinter which has been converted, but I like the shape and thought it would be fun to own. Due to other ongoing projects and life in general getting in the way, it has taken until this weekend to get it into the workshop. It had to be pushed as the cylinder head was removed before I bought the van due to valve issues. I have had the head machined, and will cover that in a later update.
Like any vehicle from the late 60's / early 70's, there will be rust. I knew from the previous owner that the rear spring hangers would need replacing. Having had a quick crawl under the van this weekend, there is some welding needed, but it isn't as bad as I had imagined. I may change that view when the wire brush comes out.
I will update as work progresses, but as life seems to get in the way, these might not be that regular.
