Looks like a great build and a very tidy car to start with. There can't be many of these around. Hi Ritchie The body is so light on these any rust spreads super fast and can rot a hole in weeks, this is the best one iv'e had as it's spent all it's life in Japan, here in Ireland we use lots of salt to grit winter roads so 1 winter would kill it dead, these came in 998cc 3sp auto so not the most usable in todays traffic, I'm wanting to do a few trips in this so it has to be a bit quicker, it's not a 'fast car' project more of a fun car project, will give it a good coat of ACF50 to help protect it but will try my best not to get the car wet which ain't easy living here. Best regards Adrian I know what you mean with the salt on the roads, NE Scotland is just the same. A good dose of Bilt Hamber underneath and in the cavities will help. I can see spots of rust appearing on my Brat just with it sitting in the sea air which is pretty depressing.

Tons of work, and looks like you know your way around.
I have always loved these too, along with any of the retro styled cars.

Amazing condition, it looks a great base to start from will be watching with interest.
They certainly reamed you on tax and duty, over 50% of the value of the car seems excessive even by the taxmans standards!

Lovely build an inspiration as I start my slightly less ambitious Pao engine swap project. I wonder how you're sourcing what look like new window seals as I can't find OEM bits anywhere?
Curious about the power to weight ratio of this too given the car only weighs about 700kg!

Hello Grizz Your right, it is tons of work and I'm right looking forward to getting it finished and painted then IVA'd........super easy to work on esp with minimum rust, Iim building it as a fun car and not interested in actual BHP, I think in this case less is more, will only be about 165bhp, it's the Jenvey induction I'm after, I'm 56 goin on 16!! Like yourself I love all retro stuff regardless of make, were all members of the same family.

Hi Kevins Thanks for your interest, for a 30 year old Nissan it's excellent, not sure if your aware but they rot real bad rear sill/panel and round the screen but this one is sound. The tax done me, I thought same you thats way OTT..........When the car was unloaded it was taken straight to a holding pound in Dublin and you've never seen anything like it, looks like a prison, cameras, cctv's everywhere, barbed wire, theres no way your getting that car out of there until you pay your duty, theres even a sterile area with twin electric gates, was glad to get it home.

Curious about the power to weight ratio of this too given the car only weighs about 700kg! I'm looking forward to following your build also.........I've sourced a few bits through buyee.jp not sure if your aware...........I search under both Pao and PK-10, last year I sourced both quarter light rubbers (new old stock in sealed bag) downside cost me £500 for 2 rubbers!!! Yahoo Japan.......always loads of stuff on there but lots of stuff not eligible for air-freight, if part has anything to do with oil/petrol they won't air freight, forgive me if your aware of this........... I'm building this as a fun car, sometimes less is more, screaming K2O with Jenvey's fully open does it for me, I'm 56 going on 16!!! Wishing you good luck with your build.

Love the kitcar too (Martin lives about 5 minutes from me the blokes a genius haha) Bookmarked Hi mat88 Thanks for the liking.......it's starting to take shape, engine went in without much chopping, looking forward to getting the Jenvey's on there and hear what it sounds like.......didn't want to sell the 'Midi' as that was big fun, completely different drive to front engined.........proper kart for the road. Nizonda is for fun and not mental fast but should sound the part, 750kg approx 160bhp......sometimes Less is More. Regards Adrian

I like the route you’re going with this. The pao is much more kind of thing than the kit car. Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Nabbed myself a brochure and an original gear knob from a manual from Yahoo Auctions Japan. Mine is starting to progress now (thread in signature).
