The roll bar turned out brilliantly. They can be very ‘make or break’ of the look of a Jeep and you sure made it! Are you going to make a canvas top for the occasional shower? Not that it ever rains back home  |

If only nickwheeler and I had painted it while the body tub was in the air…….. Still, it gives me something to look forward to next season. After winter. could this be the way forward ? tough and nothing to polish , it’s never going to be a show winner unless you spend a lot of time and effort on that fibreglass as you said it was cracked and crazed www.buzzweld.co.uk/bedliner-dtm-1k-5l-no-primer-schutz-kit.html |

Also in the post/mail today a random sticker. I like the sentiment. And have suspicion who it is from. Come on…… own up.  Certainly will be used on the ally firewall. Not me this time! OK, one name off the list. Though you were high up on it. Along with pedalcarjoe and a couple of others. Me neither, but I like it...  Aaaahhhhh, well, you were not on the “Usual suspects” list. I also have Fil “Sparkplug” who recovered it originally on the list, and a guy called Bryan in Ireland. Regardless, it made me chuckle and will divide opinions, which is fine too. . |

Not that it ever rains back home Morning mate, For now, I have no plans for a canvas roof, though it was always in the plans as a very simple hook on jobbie. More for sun than rain TBH. We will see what comes out of it all. |

Land Rover Bikini Hood type ? I had a similar top on one of my buggies BTW not guilty on the sticker issue ...nor me ... but wish I'd thought of it ! Bikini tops are cool for being cool, in summer. And may help with splash control. |

Quick after work job. Buckle for the crotch strap. And then bolted into the frame as well.   Tight, but adjustable fit .  Done.  Weekend has arrived. |

Cant be too far off a fire up? ha ha exactly that i sent Grizz this text the other day you should be 👍👍👍 you are in the place where the little things take time , when i rebuilt my motorbike from a frame up it took 25% of the time to build 75% of it but 75% of the time to finish the last 25% it’s frustrating but it’s these finishing bits that are taking the build to another level |

It does take time, and at times it is frustrating as well, but the overall progress is in a forward direction, so I should just keep schtum and carry on. And yes, it is the case. Some days the day job does interfere with progress and mojo or mood. Still, it will get done, eventually. Ahhhh, MOT man says you need to see where you just came from. Combined a set of old and new mirrors.  Needs tidying up.  Better  4 of these made as only one original.  Ready  Tight fit, call the octopus.  Arms on.  Done.  Looks so wiiiiide now.   Central rear view mirror also contemplated. Chevy mirror from my stash.  But then found this one. Sucker  Job done.  Spent the rest of the day with Sally. Walked the dog. Saw my next resto project. Right there in the Thames, Essex in the background.  And took her out for dinner. Happy life. |

Keep going with the little jobs Rian, every step forward is closer to a finish. Sorry but I booked nickwheeler for today. Nick welded a cracked header pipe while I fitted a service kit to the carbs, of course being Nick while he was under there he noticed that all the bushes in the mount for the gear lever were gone so quickly whittled some on the lathe and fitted them. Still got to set the carbs up but the gearshift is so much better    Hijack over |

Nick welded a cracked header pipe while I fitted a service kit to the carbs, of course being Nick while he was under there he noticed that all the bushes in the mount for the gear lever were gone so quickly whittled some on the lathe and fitted them. Still got to set the carbs up but the gearshift is so much better Hijack over Evening mate. I certainly don’t own his ass, and suspect nobody does, so it is good to see your car getting some good attention. You and nickwheeler do put a lot of us to shame. Most credible workshop, and great results. Nick is a bit like a drug dog, sniffing out and finding faults that need fixing and attention. I am also always awed by the way he nonchalantly pops in for half an hour and comes out with a bespoke part or two that the quickly whipped up on the lathe or mill. And this sort of post to me, is never a hijack. Keep posting any time. |

Thank you my friend, I have to admit the TR and I have not been friends this week with the busted exhaust and a flooding front carb while the Metro was out on loan to Nick. He and I have worked in the street in front of his house for more than three decades, it just feels normal now

I have to report the welder works properly again, and the £9 welding lenses are effective. I should have spent that 40 minutes on the machine back in January; it would have saved a lot of work. And the workshop is far less credible when it's snowing and you've got a gearbox to fit, or doing the head gaskets on DOHC V6 while suffering from bronchitis That is great news, that the welder is back at full functionality. Regarding snow, rain, cold work while harbouring disease and feeling spectacularly shiite, nothing less expected. Though I would struggle with the gearbox. Saying that, most of my work pre-carport was out on the drive, and historically Paul Y never shows his face unless it hits 6’C or less and 8 cylinders are involved. You guys did well yesterday. |
