So this weekend saw little,Canta action. Which left me with a load of guilt to be processed, in the shape of using the RR. I really do enjoy driving it. The lowered suspension can be jarring on the terrible roads and potholes, but I wanted a lowered plastic car I guess. Today I went to Asda (Walmart) to buy some groceries and a bottle of Fireball in case I needed it. When I came out, there was a note (card) on the windscreen, so someone must have clocked that it is not a 4x4 I did quite a lot more driving, went to Sallys place to upload the Rezin Rockit video I edited after midnight last night. My internet at home sucks big time. Then I drove over to The Isle of Grain to look at the fruit trees I usually get my plums from, almost nothing, guess it’s been too dry. Took a couple of photos of the car as well. Eventually came home, having thoroughly enjoyed the day. Still enjoy seeing the silly thing. Video Almost Monday.

Has it got an evap canister/valve I suspect when you filled it full of fuel the alternative tank filled the evap system with fuel rather than just vapour. Common issue on modern bikes filled on the side stand. Not sure if I understand this. I’m talking about the charcoal canister the fuel tank vents through rather than venting to atomosphere. If you have left it in place the new tank maybe allowing it to fill with fuel. This causes strange running issues. I’ve no idea if an mx5 is new enough to have one I think it’s a euro 3 or 4 emissions standards thing.

It's connected electrically, but not mechanically. The tank is a new fabrication, and is vented to atmosphere.

Now seeing it next to a modern golf and a retro-ish 500 I just noticed that the RR is actually smaller than I thought!

Anyone in SCUNTHORPE who can go take a look for me ?
Please PM if you can go look at the underside and a few mechanical things on a car for me, please.
200 miles it]s a tad far to pop up and check something out.
SORTED.
Got a 70 year old on a 990 KTM going to investigate for me on Sunday.

westbaycopied from retroshite FOR SALE Eagle RV Reg: Q168GRN Fresh MOT 24 February 2025 Second year back on road. MX5 1.6 engine and gearbox, wiring loom. Lowered. Polybushed, RX7 leather seats. MX5 steering column and instruments. Wheels are 4x100 on adapters from Ford pattern 4x108 front and rear This car will typically never be everything to every man. Always things to change, things you may not like. Ultimately a toy, a summertime open car. FULL BUILD THREAD HERE: Take a look first. forum.retro-rides.org/thread/215488/grizz-purgatory-rezin-rockit-summertime?page=1Such a difficult car to price. I know that I will not get back what it cost me but I do need the space, having 4 cars on the road and a 1966 Chevy C10 truck to build or sell on as well.

Nigel Grizz has decided that RetroRides is not for him. However, he is still a regular contributor on another forum. As far as I am aware, yes, the Rocket is still for sale, although I can’t comment on the price. If you can’t find him on the other forum, which starts with Auto and ends with a word that won’t pass the profanity filter, but rhymes with “bite”, then send me a PM with your contact details and I’ll text him directly and put you in touch.
