Today progress. Thanks to craigrk and Mickey for advice, help, encouragement Really interesting getting into it. The I-beams are not the same On top and bottom. The C-beam against the wall, though a 200mm beam, again has different dimensions. So cardboard templates were made up, cut out and then copied onto the beams, all were different. Starting on the rear, followed by the front ones. With fine tuning needed to hammer the beams into the steel with a lump hammer. Cutting and measuring and using Craig’s grinder with very rough steel grinding flap disc to fine tune the fit..... Almost there. And then done. Caravans swapped around. Welding caravan parked under the beams and storage van parked on the drive. A few more jobs to do, including two 1.1 meter steels to manufacture and bolt on to the right side of the frame...... So, very happy with today’s progress, and also good to see mate Craig again, as we did not get to do a USA road trip. More soon.

The front hubs could be swapped for Granada mk1 or 2 to give you 5x112 PCD, then its just some wobble nuts on the front, and adapters for the back and away you go If it's drums you might get away with different drums or have the current ones redrilled?

Discs. Well, what’s left of them. Needs new brake lines, and rebuilding.

Or magically ship the steels from Holland Mate........... If we could find a free ride for them from 65mustang in Werkendam in the Netherlands......... It would make the price worth having them for. I'm quite local to Werkendam. Happy to help any way I can, just let me know.

Werkendam? My son, when he was only a toddler used to love going on the "ferry" between Dordrecht and Werkendam. We were only 5 minutes away from the Ferry or "het pontje"..
Anyway grizz, things are looking great!

Happy to help any way I can, just let me know. Thank you very much for that offer Sebastiaan, I guess it’s not the easiest task to get four wheels and tyres over here into Kent, unless someone has an empty car or van coming all the way. Werkendam? My son, when he was only a toddler used to love going on the "ferry" between Dordrecht and Werkendam. We were only 5 minutes away from the Ferry or "het pontje".. Anyway grizz, things are looking great! Always smile because Afrikaans has so much similarity to Dutch and Flemish. A few more jobs to do, including two 1.1 meter steels to manufacture and bolt on to the right side of the frame...... 1.01!!! :-) Was good to get that done. Aaahhh yes Bozz. I am possibly going to look at another change here. You joem83Are a bad Bad Bad Man. Those are pricey, but they are pretty awesome. They look really good. This has been mentioned before 🤣 And makes no difference, having heard it before. Too many options with the Rezin Rockit already. Mate Craig dropped these off yesterday too. Not sure what the final look may be like in the end. Basic was my plan.

If it's basic you want, just fit those 2 bigger dials fully functional and done Has more than enough information for the Resin Rocket then

Basic? They're from a Wolseley 18/85. That's posh.... Check polarity on clock if you want to use it. Over half of them are +Ve.

From a looks point of view, I like the idea of a huge tachometer or revcounter up front. Speedo can be satnav/electronic or simple. We will see how it unfolds.

And makes no difference, having heard it before. My old English teacher & report cards would confirm being a bad influence LOL. I was in boarding school from age 12 and there I got in my fair share of trouble. Lost the privilege of being a prefect in my final year, due to joy riding and some other things. In my early school reports the teachers repeatedly said: “Rian talks too much and needs to write neater” Happy with how my life turned out, despite all of that.

I guess as we said before, the biggest trick would be to get them from Werkendam into the U.K. somewhere close to Kent.
Unfortunately COVID has ensured that there is a lot less general, empty vehicle travel that one used to be able to call on.
And the wheels and tyres do take up a certain amount of space.

Hi all, Looking for an opportunity to get four banded steels and tyres from Werkendam, near Breda and not far from Rotterdam in the Netherlands Wheels are with 65mustang and would ideally make it into the U.K. somewhere close to Dover or Kent. If you have a lead, or are able to help with this, please send a PM or post in the forum.retro-rides.org/thread/215488/grizz-purgatory-rezin-rockit-carport thread Thank you.

I live within ten minutes of the port of Dover, and can provide an easily found “drop off” point for anyone passing.

My worst worry about dying is my wife selling my stuff for what I told her it cost...

The Doctor also offered to store the wheels in his barn in the Netherlands, but then they could stay with the seller for now. I would prefer them to be picked up and dropped off in one.

Though I would add this bit of a side report. Some of you know I love a good knife, and buy them when I travel, trade some, find some etc. A friend, Jonathan in North Carolina whom I have known for years runs Jon Hall Custom Knives for his hand made and hand forged knives and bladed tools. He has wanted to make me a knife for a couple of years, in a style that I could use. So this weekend he sent me some photos of what he had started on. A full size Chef’s Knife, using Damascus steel and Buckeye Burl, stabilised with blue Resin scales I absolutely love the detail one can get into Damascus steel. Scales worked back. By this morning, only final polish and finish was left to do. Once again, feeling blessed and privileged and chuffed as hell. I like this knife.
