A day off work always sounds like a great idea. … So many options……. Do I blend two steering wheels to make up one that fits? Or stick with Mr Ugly. Suspect Ugly it is. For now. You need an adapter whittling up! Just a small pcd adapter and a momo orsimilar horn push

Well. Covid certainly slows me down. But I struggle to sit still, and indoors is a killer. After a slow walk around the bootfair, which netted exactly zero, I had breakfast, sat around a while, then went to the garage. Gathered some bits of metal. Measured, cut to.size, drilled etc. Drilled and tapped the rear support Glue. Result. Solid stick welds. Painted. Result. Tell you what. That screen is a load more solid and stable now. It was good, now it is better. PS. For those who missed it, the brace is actually there to stabilise the screen as one automatically grabs it to get in and out, and I would hate a cracked screen because some 18 stone lump hung off the screen corner. It is now a load more solid. Sure it will impact elsewhere too.

Great job there, (although I admit I had no idea what it was right to the end,) Get well soon mate but don't expect it to be a 5 minute job, Dawn is still recovering 3 months after getting it, Nigel

Maybe I should have explained. Covid hurts. Like it ... well done, looks the part and doesn't look out of place ... Get well soon ... Will stop me throat punching some f-tard for swinging off the screen. That looks really good... Thanks Alex, from you it means a lot. Sorry to hear you are not firing on all cylinders take it easy and get well soon. thanks for the pics Thanks Ernie, Still a bit slow. Drilled three holes and screwed three P-clips in today, knackered me. More later.

Shortest report ever. Thanks to Covid. 3 holes drilled, 3 P-Clips fitted to brake lines. I gave up, and came in to sleep 2.5 hours. Nasty stuff.

Physically and Cerebrally I am knackered and don’t give a toss. Really weird for me. Still, it seems a few people experienced the same before, so patience may be needed. In the mean time…….. I have revisited a previous stumbling spot.

Came to a decision yesterday. My car, my build, my visualisation, my way, Advice always appreciated. I walked down to the garage just to get out the chair and off the couch. Saw this support, which I really like. Then thought about it, walked back and fetched the garage keys, got a length of high density foam from the rafters. Added it to the brace. Then wrapped it in 50mm wide black nylon webbing. Both tidier and arguably “safer” I like the look, as mentioned before. Ordered some fresh new webbing off Evilbay. Both the rear section as done before, and the cross brace will get this treatment. Those who do not like it, I am sure will not be doing their car builds like that. And anyone who really really really hate it that much, come buy the car, take it home and fix it for yourself. Problem solved.

I know there isn't really a pattern with COVID but my second round (1st in Dec 2020, 2nd in March 2022) I would never had known if it wasn't for that pesky second line on the test.
It seems the second round for people who've had it before is much more mild - working in packed schools most of my team has had it twice now. When I had it second time round I worked from home completely (still had to isolate then) and then spend Saturday dropping the engine out of my Ka Sunday dropping an a 1.3 cdti out of my girlfirends Corsa for replacement... funny how it hits in different ways!
I have a neighbour who loves a nose poke and a elongatged chat, normally while I'm trying to balance an engine in the palm of my hand so I remember saying to her as she appeared at my back gate "I've got COVID don't come too close" - never seen her move so fast!
Love reading this, keep it up.

I have revisited a previous stumbling spot. If you feel poorly, go to bed, sleep as much as you can to give your body the strength to fight it. Last time I had it a day of proper rest and a few crazy dreams sorted me out, just leaving me a bit lethargic for a couple of days afterwards. Anyway, get well soon mate.👍🏻

Weird illness for sure.
