Time to build a new daily, hoping that this is a quick build not a full blown project. So this arrived yesterday - A Mk1 Nissan Stagea - essentially a Skyline estate, using R33 skyline running gear: RB25DET(turbo'd straight 6) with an Auto gearbox, 4wd. An hour later and the wings/bonnet/bunper were off ready for the R34 front end parts to arrive.

Good luck with your build - but please to rest of us that are clueless on the model type / make etc - RS4 / R33 / RB25 means diddly nothing to rest of us that have never even heard of the model - a brief outline without swamping into great depths would be great and educates the unknown

This should be really cool. Are you using a kit to do the conversion, or are you aiming to use R34 parts and then just make them fit? And are you going to do anything with the mechanicals, or restrict yourself to changing the face?

This should be really cool. Are you using a kit to do the conversion, or are you aiming to use R34 parts and then just make them fit? And are you going to do anything with the mechanicals, or restrict yourself to changing the face? There's a few different ways to do it. Original R34 bonnets and bumpers fit, the wings are different. I've bought a kit from EP Racing which has wings which fit the stagea, and also a bonnet/bumper kit from them. The downside is the bonnet & bumper are made to fit an R34 not a Stagea, so some fabricating will be needed. Theres a company called MASA which makes a front end kit which bolts straight up to the stagea framework, but at £4000+£1800 shipping this wasn't an option! Speclist is below - apart from a full service there is no intentions for any more mods, but I would like to put a manual box in it.

R34 front end? nice. Did you have any trouble getting hold of the parts? A buddy of mine I think is still looking for the headlights (reasonably priced!) I imported a CROWN Wagon at the beginning of the year so really appreciating the big straight six estates right now!

What's wrong with the front end that's on it? Just don't like it?

I've not struggled for parts, I only need a rear valance and maybe some additional R34 brackets if theres anything I cant make. What year CROWN have you got? And there's nothing wrong as such, just ugly! I think they look brilliant in Skyline form, given how popular RS4 audis, T5 volvos etc have become I think Nissan dropped a bollock not making them like that from standard

I always liked these (just the auto box put me off).. ended up with an r33 gtst but even at "stage 1" ish the performance didnt match the running cost or the hype so I got rid. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out!

Looks like a good build to follow, Bayside Blue is a great colour choice if you do go for it!

Wow! Never new Nissan made a steroid (and probably vastly technical improved) version of a Volvo 960!! Why did they not market it over here???
