Hi all new to RR. I have recently purchased a 1982 UK RHD VW Santana gx5! From what I can find out there is only a handful left in the UK, what makes this one more peculiar is that it's on carbs!
Does anyone have any information on these Audi inline 5 engines and also Santana/ B2 in general! Any information will be appreciated
Thanks in advance guys and gals!

Friend of mine had one of these a few years back. Seem to remember she struggled to sell it as no one wanted it! Cool cars though.
Wonder if this was hers?

Whilst I cannot provide any knowledge on the 5 cylinder's because ours has worked quite well since we got it, my partner has a JS engined B2 Audi coupe, good to see another Santana found. The intake manifold on yours is it a cast item or custom made?
I (or diplomatically - we) have been working on the brakes for ours this year, parts weren't all that hard to come by in the grand scheme of things. You should deffo start a build/project thread if you haven't already, there are quite a few B2 and classic Audi facebook groups with plenty of knowledge on as well as the Audizine forum too. Companies out there are still developing parts to replace the injection system as well which I have been tempted with just because of age.

There's a chap near me that has 2 of these, both street parked and it looks like he alternates daily duties between them. Sorry I can't help (though I could probably go and ask him about them) cool cars though

Great engines, based on the VW/Audi EA827 four cylinder that can be found in virtually all VW's of the 70s, 80s and 90s and just as reliable. I think the last VW's to use them where T4 vans which are amazing, if a little thirsty with this engine. If it's been well maintained it should be a good lump.
