Hi, here is my Mk5 Cortina.
Recent restoration work carried out with no expense spared...
MOT'd untill November.
Starts first time, runs nice, all in all a real decent example.
I was aiming to get some use out of it for myself- however another impulse purchase requires the dry storage this one is taking up.
Right, so, its running a 2 L pinto, with brand new twin webbers just fitted (at over £1500 alone), complete with all new linkages/ cables too.
The block itself has clearly had work and been sprayed up by previous owner. I know it has a brand new timing belt fitted, and a few extras- not sure but may well have had uprated cam and bits done to the block as well.
Electric fan fitted, brand new (the origina is here in the boot too).
Stainless steel expansion tank fitted, and brand new performance silicone hoses fitted.
The battery has been re-located into the boot to make room for the carbs, the battery tray has been un-picked nicely and comes with the car (just in case any future owner wants to put it back to original).
Lowered just right in my opinion, fitted with a set of RS alloys, recently been diamond cut and re-furb'd. New set of centre caps and tyres fitted.
Just had a fresh re-spray, its good paint on the outside but there are a few bits what let it down- the underside of bonnet and bootlid are black. The doors etc were removed for paint- but some of the shuts have a bit of overspray etc. The boot area and the engine bay are satin black- which does actualy look nice and contrasts with the body colour well.
The interior is very good condition- best I have seen in a long time- and its all original. The seats and doorcards go real nice against the body colour.
Underside very solid and decent- exaust has a bit of a rattle, I was intending to replace with a stainless steel system. I have a original 4 branch manifold in the boot aswell.
New calipers and pads fitted- the brakes just need bleeding with fresh fluid- which I intend to do this week.
Bonnet realease cable works- but the handle is broken- but a replacement included- may get this fitted this week also.
Boot full of spares and extras- all included.
Two full sets of keys (x2 for petrol cap, x2 for ignition and locks).
V5 logbook present and a folder of invoices and history etc.
All in all a very tidy example of an increasingly desirable/ rare car - complete with MOT till November!
I would love to keep this one, and had intended too, but due to needing space ASAP I am advertising a few cars (last in, first out!).
Located in Hertfordshire, Delivery can be arranged at cost if needed, not a problem!
Many thanks, Matt
By the way I will get more photos this week.......
