Here's my volvo 242 DL documentary that i am doing on yotube.
The car is a 1981 242 DL that i bought back home in Lithuania and brought back around 5 years ago to the UK. Originally it was a Belgian car imported into Lithuania in 1999. The owner drove it around for a few years and when the MOT.Test ran out he parked it up in a damp garage... in 2002 And then, in 2015 i bought it. One of my good friends sent me a link to a Lithuanian autotrader with the line - Who's gonna be the first, me or you?
At the time i still had my b230fk swapped 1991 240 GL that i was dailying and before that i haven't in a slightest realized that i will be able to buy a 242... EVER!
So i bit the rusty bullet and bought it.
I had some contacts in transportation industry and had a really nice deal with some homie couriers that delivered the car from my friends door back home to my door in Bristol, where i lived for £280. When i moved out of Bristol, it cost me £100 to move it into my council garage 30 miles away lol...
That's the first ever time that i have seen or touched the car lol...
It did move, but the whole brakes, suspension and electrical system were a bit tired... Well, shot completely
Very first walk around...
At the moment i am taking the whole car apart and filming it all for Youtube. I am already on EP10 as of a few days ago, and i will be posting the videos over here for your pleasure.
In the end it will be interesting i bet. I have alot of plans for it that will require time and alot of effort to make it all correct and the way i imagine.
