Does anyone know where I can pick up a seat belt extender?
I bought a universal fitment one but the metal end on the fiesta is an arrow shape rather than a rectangle shape so it didn't work.
I literally need a small amount of wiggle room so I can pop a car seat in there!

Bit of 3mm flat bar and a bolt to extend the stalk up a bit?
Only the same as the "mounting accessories" you get with a Securon seat belt kit.

Hacksaw and a drill? Flat bar available at B&Q (or eBay for a lot less; 3mm x 30mm x 100mm should be sufficient).

Check the instructions for both the extender and the seat. I had the same issue with a P10 Primera years ago. Neither the seat maker nor the belt maker recommended their use.

Thanks for the suggestions... Yes I really don’t think I should be making anything. I wouldn’t be confident on the safety aspect of it! grizz I am based in the south east, West Sussex

I have a Securon 254 kit sitting around in my garage (I fitted 2 to the back of my 924, but it only fitted in the right side because of the shape of the reel). If any of this is useful, let me know...

I have a home made seat belt extender in my Suzuki Vitara, a legacy from the previous owner, it is simply a piece of 4mm flat bar drilled, with rounded off corners bolted between the seat and the receiver, I 've not had any issues with the MOT man. It does make life easier in affording a little more freedom in the belt.

Thank you all for the suggestions duncanmartin I have no idea if these are compatible. Burton power also do some new seatbelts/rollers I can look at. I haven’t ventured to any shops yet because of lockdown. Barely been out the house since it all started but will look at the flat bar option when I can as this seems like the simplest solution.

Where can I actually get a 3mm flat bar from?
And will I be able to bend one end by hand to angle it so it comes out the seat alongside the car seat?

B&Q, Wickes, etc. Hold it in a vice and you'll bend a long length by hand; shorter might need gripping with and adjustable spanner. As mentioned in an earlier post, the fittings that come with new seatbelts are bent from similar material

I’ve a couple of belt extenders in the store that came from my uncle’s place. I’ll try and find them. If they’re the right shape then you’re welcome to one.
