Hi folks.
Just bought one of these.
www.radiomuseum.org/r/ever_car_portable.html
It's a clever old thing. Basically it's a normal portable radio with a Pp9 battery. But it has a car fitting Dock so you can use it in the car.
The Dock disengages the 9v supply and speaker and internal aerial. There are standard car audio connections on the back of the Dock. Live, earth. Aerial and speaker. When I use the radio on its battery it works perfectly. When I try it in the Dock, I am getting a tiny bit of hiss through the car speaker and no tuning noise or hint of a station.
Would anyone know how to fix it?? It's a lovely thing and I would like it to work properly. It was designed to avoid paying the radio licence twice and to lift out for picnics etc 📻😊
