1974 giulia 2000 alfa 156 2.4 jtd 136 bhp engine, modified to about 180 bhp at the moment. With plenty of torque on tap. Opel/vauxhall omega gearbox with adapterplate Independent rear suspension setup. Based on bmw e30 rear axle but all custom with modified e30 trailing armse28 hubs, golf mk4 callipers, Mercedes 500sl springs, shortened e28 drive shafts,e36 TD diff etcetera.. Bmw e36 brakes up front. 15" e46 wheels with 195-50-15. Interior has the alfa 156 instruments and steering column crafted in. Entire 156 wiringharness was adapted. Old steering wheel fitted to newer column.
Appearances are not really important to me so the exterior is far from pretty.. Daily driver which gives me a smile on my face every time.

Holy sh*t, that is awesome... EmDee needs to see this I was confused about this as I thought I had commented already, then I realised it's a showcase thread and I'm following the build thread 😄 Thanks for thinking of me though, I love it. Truly brilliant in every way, great ideas, great engineering and terrific car.

I love the 5 pot diesel here. How does it affect the balance of the car? The work done looks great.

Love this car. It looks mean. and 180bhp from a tiny car like that would shift. bet its fun and a handful in the wet.
Do you have any further plans to up the power. I'm led to believe the 2.4 Jtd engines can make decent power. a mate of mine a while back had a Brera which was a 2.4 so presuming same or similar engine which had turbo, intercooler and exhaust modded and its was quick in that so in your little alfa it would be scary.

How different it is opposed to an original giulia is hard to say as i have no experience with an original one. The car pulls very hard, 3/4/5 gear are very entertaining. It will easily do 200km/h+(120mph+)at 4k rpm. I'm only not to happy about the steeringbox, to slow and no feeling in it. I'm going to fit a rack&pinion to improve this. Hopefully that will make the car more agile.

I'm thinking about what to do.. This 10 valve needs a bit more boost and a good mapping, then it can make about 220-230bhp. Problem is i also have a 20v version that could go in.this is the earlier one with 175bhp as standard. Brera has 200/210bhp but has a more difficult wiringloom and is way more expensive. This 20v can make 300bhp relatively easy. But it's also a lot of work to make it fit. Gearbox should also be upgraded then, r25/28 will most likely be not too happy with about 600nm. Bmw gs6-37dz would replace it as i have one lying around. But would also need modifications to the tunnel, shiftermechanism and propshaft. And a different clutch to fit the bmw splines. I already have a good large intercooler and offcourse no cat or dpf. That helps for power. Bigger turbo is the most important thing to change for more power. After that it gets more expensive to get good gains. Spending money on the 10v seams like a waste but changing to the 20v is so much more work...

Just enjoy the 10 valve for now its plenty power. anything electrical and wiring I'm at a loss to be honest but enjoy the 10valve in its current form I doubt it will get boring any time soon.

Are you using the standard Jed ECU or a different one?

Are you using the standard Jed ECU or a different one? Standard alfa 156 2.4 136 bhp wiring loom and ecu modified to fit the car. It actually has an entire car loom fitted as i also used the all the dials and the columnswitch. Car has a chipped ecu but needs some new mapping to get everything right. It now smokes since i put bigger injectors in..

Car is in the shed for some modifications. One of the challenges was to get a heater box in to get the car warm during winter and being able to defog the windows. Since my bulkhead was modified i lacked space for the original box. I now made myself a box with a golf MK1 matrix, a 200mm fan and no flaps inside. Flow goes always to the windows and i can open up to four vents to blow to the feet or cabin. Now i need to make the dashboard fit over it..
