A friend of mines Son keeps taking off with his car, this time round, he's smashed it and written it off. Not worth releasing from police compound..courts will deal with him in due course.. But in the meantime he's after another car.. Preferably Diesel average sized Hatch or maybe Saloon
I suggested 1 particular car with a insert code immobiliser to prevent anything like this to happen again..
Pug 306 Phase 1
Do you or anyone you may know have 1 for sale please, tested and running tip top would be an advantage..
Alternatively is there any other car with this kind of safety device out there?
Thank you

The only cars I can think of that used a pin immobiliser were a few Peugeot and Citroen cars. Anything new enough to have a chip key transponder will also work provided said ‘friend’ doesn’t swipe the keys, in which case I refer you to my first point.

I think it's the son of a friend of the OP. Only thing I can suggest is a hidden switch or combo of switches. Or lock his keys away in a number controlled safe? Any other immobiliser is generally a key fob which doesn't really solve the problem

most of the PSA keypads I've seen were bypassed 20 years ago as they were troublesome, doubt you would find many that still work to this day, they were only on early phase1 cars, and only when optioned, not standard fit! later ones had the key chips.

On a previous car i had a switch hidden under the carpet. You have to turn the key in the barrel to position 1, press the switch and then fully turn the key to start the engine.
Autowatch do their ghost immobiliser which requires a code to be entered to start the car.
A disclock is a way of securing the car mechanically. Your mate's son would then need to locate two keys to 'borrow' his dad's car.
Sounds a very sad situation this. Hopefully your mate's son doesn't continue down the path he's on.

Thanks guys for your suggestions.
A switch to start it could work.
As for disklock etc. If he can pinch the car key, surely he can take/pinch the Disklock key too.
I was thinking basic Code system would be ideal hence asked about the Phase 1 Pug 306 and possibly other cars.
Ghost system only works on newer keyless vehicles (iirc)
This old code system is like the Ghost system but of the 90s.
I'll keep looking about. But everything is Dry just yet.
Seen a petrol 306 on Ebay but its again Petrol.

Unfortunately a friend of mine was in a similar position. He ended up using a hidden switch that allowed the car to start and drive but after 20seconds sounded the horn and brought the car to a halt. Simple solution and brought an end to that particular challenge in his life... Don't think I would trust any 20year old alarm system not to leave me stranded! Try the option above, if you are interested I will try and get the model etc from him. P.
