Owned 20 years now - spent the odd year broken because quite frankly I occasionally drive it hard, not afraid to track it and it's a blue moon when I polish it......... Modifications quite a few just to keep it on the road as Lotus and Vauxhall basically decided not to support it with spares as soon as it got near 10 years old - luckily there is quite a decent owners club and a few specialists that help make life easier

Ahh the most unique of the Lotus Carlton’s and as you say driven like it should and not a show queen, glad you still got it.
Is the Monza rally project still alive?

I'm not sure I am but as it's a mongrel and no one else loves it enough to put coin in my hand I still have it It is f*cking epic when it's on song and in it's element mind (OK limited environment but still) - nothing has come close to it in terms of making me grin like my avatar when it is running well...... Is the Monza rally project still alive? Awaiting it's turn - safe and tucked up and I'm still collecting parts The "monzadore" different story - need to think about that one - too many compromises made already

Actually pictures are memories and memories are everything Bottom left picture is my mate Micheal taken when we camped at the silverstone classic - it was awful weather and that was a rare dry moment - we both got a little drunk the evening before after some good grub and way way way too many beers he said and I quote "when you got that car I thought you'd use it and abuse it like you have all your cars and maybe a couple of years later someone else would have to pick up the pieces and make good what you broke - I was wrong - you picked up the pieces several times and fixed it but you're still a curse word" The thing about Michael is he is never wrong - honestly Micheal is someone who has built several kit cars to a mega std and done a complete nut and bolt resto on a TR6 in a single prefab garage - everything done himself including the paint and when he takes it to shows people walk past and mutter "chequebook restoration" because it really looks that good Michael also helped me do an engine swap on a senator years ago after I broke the one the car came with - timing wasn't perfect - in the middle of winter outside with snow on the ground and lots more falling around us - and to be honest he's a curse word too but we've been mates for nearly 30 years and I value his opinion I just occasionally chose not to listen
