A couple of years ago I decided to get the Elan ready for the road, however I noticed that the water pump bearing had play in it, so I needed to replace it before enjoying wind in the hair motoring.
Now, to replace the water pump the engine has to be removed. Once the engine was out, I thought the engine bay looks scruffy. One thing led to another and now it's a full blown restoration. I've spent over 300 hours removing the paint and filler to find a bit of a horror story in terms of bodged accident repairs and all the gel coat is no more. Lots ahead........
I've attached a couple of videos one just before I decided to remove the engine and the other is how it is now with a run through of the damage that needs repair..
