anyone else on here got a slammed 115??? do you have this problem? i keep bashing the front downpipe on the floor. a lot. in fact is its now about 1/3rd of its original diamter at the bottom, and has already been given a good dose of bad welding by the previous owner. i blows like a whore, and every time i clout it it bends or snaps the manifold bolts. a new one is 55 quid plus vat, but i don't want to buy one cos exactly the same is just gunna happen.(and it will reduce the ground clearance by 1.5". the problem is it loops under the front crossmember. has anyone tried fabbing up one that takes a different route?

I really don't know how much space you have, but how about getting a few different bends from your nearest exhaust shop and trying to find a new route?
My friends Rover P6 was mucho low but he managed to run 2 pipes to the back taking some convoluted path. It took a bit of experimenting as there really isn't a lot of room under there. The floor pan is really flush.
Alternatively, how about square section tubing? Make it wide and flat for the section that is nearest the ground.

hmmmm. i thought about the square/oval section tube, but id need to make a bashguard for it cos if i hit it on the floor id end up plugging the exhaust!!!
i might just have to pull bits off 'til it can take another route, or look at putting it through the fenderwell !!!

I sympathise! I have this problem too... when I go over a speed hump at anything above 10mph I get a horrible scraping sound! There have been a couple of times when a bump has caught the zorst wrong and it's actually taken the whole exhaust off of its rubber mountings! It was just being supported by the front pipe itself... not a good thing! This is partly my fault though as I have an modified sports back box on, for which I had to do some adapting of the mountings... Not gotten around to solving the problem yet but mine too has a very flat bottom on it . The best thing, as has been suggested, would be to re-route it using some bends and stuff (or flexi-pipe?). I can't remember how much / little space there is above the crossmember but that could be a solution... Hey look on the bright side, it could be the sump that's taking the beating - at least the crossmember protects that! ;D

yours must be a bit higher than mine- when i go over a speedbump i leave the exhaust on it!!! ive been known to drive on the path to avoid them ;D ground clearance when stood is about 2 1/2, if i can reroute the exhaust ile have almost 4", which means i can go down 2 more
