Thought id start a build thread for my AX 1.0 Spree. Long time lurker here and have decided to do a project as i fancied having a go for a while and my son fancied the idea so getting him involved and off the Xbox is a bonus! Car was advertised for sale on this very forum and i had seen the start of the build thread so decided it had all the right parts that i could make a good start. Arrival Minidan had already fitted VTR front struts hence the alloys up front, Due to storage issues mainly no room the interior desperately needed de moulding, Wife and lad on those duties and really pleased how well its come up. Meanwhile i took started putting the VTR motor in, Also managed to get under the engine bay cleaned up and undersealed , More pics to follow might even show you the rusty bits !

Decided to pull the motor back out as i wanted to tidy the engine bay up a bit, Car is going to be white when finished i was going to just leave it black under there but had a change of heart. Also finished fitting the Saxo lower arms and new track rod ends.

Great work, worth doing. Should look a lot tidier in there once it's all fitted in there

I've never had a super clean bay myself, but when I did the engine swap on my 205 I took the time to clean it out thoroughly and it makes a big difference

Apparently it's relatively simple though. Is it a single plug ECU you've got?

It's a 3 plug ECU and not sure if it's unlocked but I've found another engine complete with all the bits I'm missing plus it's already got a converted loom for a early 106 so should save a lot of time 🤞

Keep us updated with the build! I'd love to do a similar conversion at some point but the wiring scares me haha

Wiring shouldn't be too bad, a mate stuck a vts lump in his 205 and I think he said it was 8 wire's to get it running

Will be next weekend now when I get chance to have a proper look Engine needs 3 wires to run but I'm not in a position to run it so I think it's more of a car loom problem than engine loom.
