Anyone know if scrap prices are way down? I know they are not taking cars at the minute.
Got a decent stash of batteries, loads of clean alloy and stainless blocks that ive not had time/motivation to get rid of for ages.

Local pickup guy reckoned £20/ton
I have no idea, but Mickey spoke to him. Seems he is just stashing till it goes up.

i Guessed steel will be way down as it fluctuates alot more, all mine is non-ferrous which usually is abit more stable.
Ive seen a few more scrapmen about after a few weeks of it taking ages for stuff to get taken off of the streets.

Last I heard my usual guys were paying £30/ton for mixed, but that was about a fortnight ago Think it’s only going one way at the moment 🙁 Like you say damageandy non ferrous might be better, but I’m just stockpiling too until it settles and things improve

That doesnt sound too bad to me, ive not weighed anything in for a while mind, so don't know how this compares to pre covid prices.
