After the Revs Institute we had to say our sad goodbyes to our friend Paul, the trip was meant to end in Boston which is where Paul lives but due to unforeseen circumstances we didn't make it to Boston. grabbed a photo and off we went Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr So you can put a face to a name, in the order of the photo Paul, Nicholl (my wife), me (Ben) After Revs we drove from Naples down to the top of the Florida Keys and grabbed a hotel for the night We drove through the everglades national park on route, unfortunately it was pitch black and couldn't really see anything which is a shame. We grabbed some take out on the way to our hotel for the night. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Woke up refreshed, took in the view out of our hotel window for all of about 10 minutes Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Packed the car up and hit the road down towards Key West Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr (photo above was actually later on that day as the sun was setting, it was a very hot clear day and not overcast)

Unfortunately, personally i do not have any. However, the revs institute has every car in their museum on their website that you can check out more photos of. So if there is anything you are curious on head over to the site, they have the history of each vehicle too. The car that you mentioned is the 1926 Bentley 3 liter. I've put the link below for you. revsinstitute.org/the-collection/1926-bentley-super-sport/

time to hit the road, this time, the keys. the drive down to Key West is a really pretty one but unfortunately being in the e30 i couldn't really see over the barriers so all i could really get photos of was the road ahead and concrete crash protection. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr This has basically been my entire ethos for the entire trip. It clearly worked as i am here to tell you this tale. We drove around looking for somewhere to park, we really wanted to just go chill out on the beach. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr It was almost as if we had left the United States and entered the Caribbean, it was so chill down there and had some sort of atmosphere that made me feel like i was down in Jamaica or Cuba. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr On the way to the beach we saw this pretty cool restomod/rep Cobra Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Beach before food, don't worry, i wont share a photo of me at the beach. Someone would have to call the coast guard of fears for a beached whale. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr# We found this really cool little restaurant not far from the beach called FireFly I had the scotch bonnet chicken biscuit, it was real good!! 10/10 would eat again. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr and then back on the road we went. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Our hotel was at the very top of the keys so we had quite the drive. i will say, it is super picturesque but on the other islands down to keywest they seemed very deprived and also had quite the rotten fish smell. We had a day in Miami next and when in Miami... Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr

I'd like to build a boat tail body on a chassis I have and the proportions of that Bentley are about what I have in my head. Much appreciated.

RMC Miami, quite possibly the coolest car dealership ever. Eddie showed me around and what a genuine guy, you can see his passion for the collection of cars and just all makes and models you see here although very heavy with Porsche. WOW ! what a trip ...what a trip ... Thank you, it really was incredible and i would be lying if i didnt admit that i sometimes get sad when i think about it. Although, i should be extremely happy i was able to do this adventure. Me and Nicholl joke that when we retire we will ship the e30 back over there and do the trip all over again.

After RMC Miami we was going to head North to stay in Orlando for the night and hang out with some friends of ours. We had a few planned stops on route, first i wanted to check out the street art at the Wynwood walls Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr And a personal favorite. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr I will be honest, i didnt really feel all that safe in Miami, so we started to head north. driving along the coast as much as we could, we saw a sign that said the beach so we thought we would have a break from driving and stretch the legs. after being on the beach for a short moment it came apparent this was not an ordinary beach... back to the car and we made it to Orlando grabbed a small drink Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr for reference, thats a pint glass. and we went to the Lazy Moon Pizza for a small slice Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr and then after we headed to a local bar just to hang out. Camera left at the house and i kept my phone in my pocket for the rest of the evening, just enjoyed spending the time with some friends. After that we went back to the house, got some sleep ready to wake up and hit another state in the morning.

We woke up when we woke up and headed out of Florida and went North to Georgia. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Some Einstein Bagels and on the road we went Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr The first destination was the beautiful town of Savannah, We had an Air BNB rented and had a couple of our Georgian friends coming to stay for the weekend. It was actually harder than expected to find a store that sold alcohol in Georgia! Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Savannah is such a picturesque beautiful city/town. However, i drank an awful lot the night before and was feeling very worse for wear. And the cobble streets, the curse word cobble streets did not help at all!! We grabbed ourselves some saussage and mash at a fake Irish pub which really wasn't that great. We bumped into Forest Gump and then headed for ice cream at the world famous Leopolds Ice Cream, can say it matched the hype, 100% would eat again. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr we walked around the town some more, took in all the sites, tried not to break my neck. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr and then i was hungry again so we done some more eating. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Is this a car forum or a food forum? Unfortunately had to say our goodbyes to our great friends Josh and Savannah. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr and then we left Savannah headed to a very special little town. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Probably the only rolling shot of the e30, taking by Josh's wife Savannah in Savannah. God i love these country roads now that we are out of Florida, the land of the boring highways Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr And then we made it to our next destination, Helen, Georgia. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr We got to the hotel and just crashed. Woke up the next day, left the car in the hotel and walked up and down the town. Unfortunately it was out of season so not much was open but regardless we made the most of it. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr We grabbed ourselves some dinner and headed back to the hotel early. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Next day time to rise and shine, ate at Waffle House then hit the road Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Savannah makes dream catchers and i asked her to make me one to go in the car, love it, still have it in the car too. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr On the road to our next destiantion it was abslutely chucking it down and i don't/didnt have an antena in the e30, there was just a hole that went into the boot/trunk. So we stopped in an old quiet town at a hardware store, its comical how hard it was to explain that i wanted a rubber bung/plug to go into the hole, i ended up having to get the guy in the store to come out and see what i was trying to explain. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr bunged up my hole and we are good to go! Next destination has 318 corners in 11 miles! can you tell me what it is?

So we left Helen and headed to Chattanooga as a stop over on route to Nashville. on route to Chattanooga is an incredible road called the Tail of the Dragon. 318 corners in 11 miles. We left Helen early as i wanted to go drive the mountains in Helen one more time before we left. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr It was a very wet, grey, miserable day. Almost as if we were back in England. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Perfect weather to go drive some twisty mountain roads. We got back in the car and headed West to Chattanooga via the Dragon. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Some very very picturesque roads so we took it slow and stopped at plenty of occasions to hop out and get some photos. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr I really like this next photo Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr And then we saw this magical sign. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr It is near on impossible to show how twisty this road is and also the banking/camber on the turns. But i will try... Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr We drove the road maybe 2 or 3 times, at first it was to get a taste of it and get some photos. it was out of season so no one was around so we could pull over and stop where space allowed it. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr It was misty and wet and we decided to drive the road one more time and say our goodbyes, Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr And then it happened, the car broke! As i was coming up to the middle point in the road i went to chuck the car into 3rd gear and CLONK, nothing, i had a floppy gear knob. and i knew exactly what it was. It was that damn shifter linkage that kept coming loose. At this point i had no idea if it had just unthreaded or snapped completely. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr At this moment a storm was starting to roll in, i previously mentioned that it was out of season and nobody was around, plus the cherry on top as we where between two mountains we had no phone signal either. It was possibly one of the only days on the trip i decided to not wear all black, i had pale blue jeans on and a white t shirt and now was the time i had to get under this car. We had been driving for nearly 4 or 5 hours so the car was hot to say the least and i had to get my arm up right above the exhaust to figure out this shifter linkage. Marriage testing moment? Nicholl sat in the car trying to thread the linkage together whilst i was pushing it from the bottom of the car. We got it threaded and then someone inside the car twisted the shifter knob the wrong way. brilliant, lets try this again. after about half an hour we managed to get it all together, tightened it up as much as i could and slid out from under the car. soaking wet, covered in mud and grease. Nicholl got a change of clothes for me out of my case, stripped down ontop of the mountain to get changed and low and behold at this moment in time someone decided to pull up and pull into the vista point. brilliant. Hi, I'm ben and i don't normally stand in the curse word rain in my pants i promise. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Now dressed we got back in the car and headed for our hotel. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr I think its safe to say after that i deserved a drink. Next to our motel was Logans Roadhouse and it was damn good. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr I still wish i took that glass, it was so heavy! Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Damn i'm hungry right now. After our food and a couple more drinks we walked back to the motel and called it a night. The next day, we head into Nashville, Tennessee.

Logan’s went belly up during covid, I miss the ones local to me already. The trip looks amazing, I’ve spent a lot of time since you posted on the dealers website looking at cars I can’t really afford.
Edit: after I typed that I googled it and it looks like they are back but not nearly as many locations.

Nothing much to add but I just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to post this all up - looks like an amazing trip with the best souvenir of an E30. I like the fact as you scroll through the pics are colour coded as blue/green for scenery, white/grey for the car and brown/orange for food!
