Nothing much to add but I just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to post this all up - looks like an amazing trip with the best souvenir of an E30. I like the fact as you scroll through the pics are colour coded as blue/green for scenery, white/grey for the car and brown/orange for food! I am happy to be of assistance, i have really enjoyed going back over the story and all the photos. I edited the photos for the next little bit of the story the other day, hopefully if i get home at a reasonable time tonight i will post the next section up.

Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr We woke up at a reasonable time and headed into Tennessee. We planned to have breakfast at our friend David's house who is a fellow e30 owner who i met online. Thankfully all the friends i met online never turned out to be murderers so i think we done well. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr David ordered in breakfast and we had a good chat and laugh whilst we ate, once fed we went out front and talked e30 for a few hours. I had a few electrical issues with the car so we went over a wiring diagram and managed to figure some stuff out. Not sure if you remember but i mentioned that my heat and cold did not work in the car. Well turns it it was literally just unplugged in the back of the heater matrix. Woops, we could have really used that heat when we drove through Colorado. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr David gave me some spare parts that he had laying around including a dash cover to help hide my horrifically cracked dashboard and we was on our way. We had a few places that we wanted to go to today and David had some other plans so we couldn't stay for too long. We said our goodbyes and off we went into town Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Our first stop was the Tennessee state museum which is in the centre of Nashville. We walked around the surrounding park before entering the museum. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr We then entered the Museum, would totally recommend it so much history inside one building. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr This was weird but it is history and its important to learn from. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr After our walk around the museum we hopped back in the car and headed over to the hipster side of town. First stop Donuts!! Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr And what goes perfect with Donuts, yep, Coffee Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr and then we just walked around old town, looked at all the sites. Thank you both, when going back over this thread it certainly make me miss the trip and really hungry too!! I have really enjoyed going back through the memories of this journey and sharing it all with you guys. I cant wait to drive the car again so i can create more memories and tell the story more. i would love to get this car on the road this year and try and get it to a RR gathering? The one in August usually falls on my birthday so that would be a great target to set but life is about to hit me real hard any day now so i am soon to have barely any free time on my hands.

After we left downtown Nashville there was a spot Nicholl really wanted to go to. It was this quite incredible hotel called the "Gaylord Opryland" all jokes aside it was actually incredible. If i remember correctly Dolly Parton has something to do with the ownership of this hotel. All these photos are of and inside the hotel. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr It really was quite incredible. I would have loved to have stayed there but with the cheaper rooms averaging $500 a night (half the cost of our e30) We decided we would drive back to our $60 motel. But on the way back to the hotel there was one last thing to do. That's right, it wouldn't be a post on this thread if i didn't show you what we ate. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr I heard of this chicken shop through word of mouth. "the best fried chicken in the world" and all that. Figured we would go see if it met expectations. We drove into quite a sketchy part of town, i was honestly a little worried about our safety. There was a que outside the door for the chicken and to this date i still cant believe i waited an hour and a half for chicken! but it was worth the wait. Unfortunately i can not for the life of me remember the name of this chicken shop. but it was clucking good 10/10 would wait an hour and a half for this chicken again. Man was it good.

Yes, and it is really good, although there's a great debate locally about the "best" fried chicken around...how hot did you go? Medium is my sweet spot.

I personally love hot food, but after waiting so long i didn't want to go for "hot" and it be a risk given how long we waited, plus i was sharing it with Nicholl so we went safe and went Medium and honestly it was the best choice.

After Tennessee the original plan was to keep heading North and to fly home from Boston. However, keeping an eye on the weather with it being the end of November it was getting colder and snowier the further north we was going to head. The e30 was getting tired now and felt like it was struggling, i didn't know if it would last the drive North to Boston in the colder weather so we sat down and had to make a decision, do we keep going North heading to the snow and the cold. Or do we flip a U turn, head back south and do our final few weeks in Florida? Snow and negative degrees... or sun and 30 degrees. (Celsius) Before we headed back to Florida there was somewhere else we wanted to visit in Tennessee and that was Gatlinburg, on route to Gatlinburg we went via Pigeon Forge which is basically Vegas for kids. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Unfortunately it was dark by the time we hit Pigeon Forge so most places where closed but it was incredible to go visit and look at, we did manage to get into a Christmas shop that was there and we picked ourselves up a decoration/keep sake for our Christmas tree back home. We parked up at our hotel, checked in and then went for a walk up and down the town. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Frustratingly as we got to Old Smokey Moonshine after a certain hour they was not allowed to sell us any of the moonshine which kind of annoyed me as we were allowed in the store to see all the magnificent flavors available but nope, not allowed to sell them after certain hours due to Tennessee's liquor laws. I did however purchase a T shirt due to being in America for so long i had "leveled up" in clothing sizes. No regrets, the food is amazing. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Unfortunately it was just 1 night in Gatlinburg as we wanted to just get back to Florida at this point. We woke up the next morning kind of early, we checked out some places in town, grabbed some breakfast and hit the road again We headed down the 441 from Gatlinburg, through the smokies to Cherokee Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr We pulled over at a view points to just go for some little walks and take in the scenery. Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr And this incredible woman, i truly wouldn't want anyone else to be my co-pilot and create these memories with. As we are now heading back to Florida we planned to do sort of a "friendsgiving" with all our Floridian friends so we decided to get some foliage from the Smokies to dress the table with Untitled by ben walsh, on Flickr
