Evening All... I thought I would put a thread up on this car mainly as an excuse as to why there has been no progress I'm my Scimitar Turbo build if you haven't seen it have a look at the thread HERE. Anyway. This was a bit of an unplanned project after a trip to an auction with my brother, he works in the family classic car business so it was a trip for stock for him, unfortunatley anything interesting that we had seen on the catalogue was either uneconomical for us to get into or went for a price that wouldn't leave any meat on the bone for him. The problem with that is my brother gets itchy hands when this happens - It has seen us dragging back doggy old S-type jags, a death trap 205 GTI and plenty of other bizarre stories. That is when we came across this car. a 1966 Ford Anglia 105E Estate... Neither of us could remember the last time we had even seen an anglia estate never mind one as cool as this, it had been resprayed in Volvo T5 yellow, a nice set of wheels, messed with interior and most importantly some lows. It looked fairly all together, had some good paperwork with it and wasn't snapped in half. Add it to the list! Long story short, here it is loaded up for its 3 hour trip back to Newcastle. |

And here it is less than 1 mile down the road when we fished the bonnet out of a field, fibreglass bonnet + not putting the catches back on = muddy shoes.  |

We got it back to Newcastle and started playing with it. It refused to run properly in Scotland so that was the first issue, que handing it over to the youngest brother and family mechanic. The issue was due to the air filter on top of the carb being squished right down by the bonnet and in turn starving the carb of air. Easy fix, run it without the bonnet to give the rest of it a shake down.
Going through the paperwork and driving it to confirm! it has had the following done to it.
4.1 diff
Fast road cam
Bored from 1500 to 1650
Nice Exhaust system
So it ran great, nice and revvy with a lovely sound.
Getting it on the ramps showed it was mostly immaculate underneath. Which led to the decision to get it back to the standard it should be, at some point it had been someones pride and joy and I'm guessing at a show every weekend so I wouldn't be surprised if someone on here knows the car.
So far the work that has been done includes.
Some welding work to repair bad historical repairs,
Full strip and repaint in the current Volvo T5 yellow
Wheels are away being re cut & refurbed as we speak.
Underside cleaned off and sealed.
Suspension parts cleaned up and painted.
Brakes cleaned up, bled, callipers and drums sealed and painted.
This is how it currently looks...

The piece behind the front grill was body colour but that has been sprayed black and the grill painted white to match the roof.
Next job is to clean, paint and polish up the engine as it looks out of place now, then on to the interior.

Before you get too far ahead of yourselves, consider grafting in some 105e fins at the back? It looks amazing!
There were some photos of a matt green one with red tinted windows (I can't find them now!) from Australia IIRC

Yes. This is going to look great again once you’re done with it. Thanks, the issue with it was that it looked great from 10 feet away but there were lots of little bodges on it, It will a different car once we are done (although it will look the same in photos  ) |

Few more jobs completed. Car fully polished and windows refitted  Bonnet painted, polished and new catches fitted  Rocker cover painted gloss black  |
