How on earth does a 70s Toyota last that well over there?  Brings back memories of dads one. To a boy with a new license it left a lasting impression. Big, comfortable & oh so sloooow. |

Had a mess around with the old girl today turns out the running issue was down to .... #1 fuel filter blocked #2 points bent #3 rust in tank      |

What a nightmare it was to get the tank out had to move the air con unit, rear seat and rear shelf   |

Just think, some of the later model ones had a fridge on the parcel shelf that cools via the aircon...
Bet you're glad you didn't have to deal with that too!

As kool as it would have been to have a fridge, the air con was bad enough still got to try refit it all... definitely a 2 person job, trying to hold the air con in place in the boot while undoing the bolts on the inside rear shelf was umm fun

Looks like it’s been sat a long time.
I’ve just dropped the tank off my latest project to clean it out as it’s been sat for nearly 20 years, and it looks identical inside.

Came off the road roughly 5 years ago due to fuel pump failure... I think misdiagnosed and was fuel tank. I'm thinking to fill it up with vinegar and leave it overnight seems to work on youtube |
