Amazing find, i'll keep an eye on this.

Thats an amazing motor. One of these but in silver used to visit our neigbours when I was a nippa (A very long time ago) and I would always stand and stare in amazement.

The plan for now is to keep it standard Just give her a good polish and wash And get her running right. Seems to be running rich and smoking and for some reason sooting up number 1 and 2 spark plugs. I am on the look out for a mechanical fuel pump though

My late father-in-law dailied a '78 CROWN for some years. We used it as a wedding car in 2001. It wasn't as sweet as this one though.

Interesting how the airbox doesn't sit directly on top of the carb like it does on my 4m. Lower bonnet line maybe? MX32/36 Cressida will have the right pump for you I'm pretty sure. I have a spare I just pulled out of storage to move houses, so will take a pic so you can see if they're the same. Tidy car! If you're hunting parts, Aus and NZ might have options for you. Alternatively, if you find some front wings for an MX32 let me know!

That is a thing of beauty. I am happy for you and I hate you at the same time . It's nothing personal I hate anyone that secures a motoring find of this stature when I never have, not even close (exits right sulkily and muttering to self about it not being fair) .
Looking forward to updates

Thanks ovimor, that reminded me that I needed to take some pics haha. Just spent the day getting the Cressida roadworthy again so I could shift her to the new place. There now. And fuel pump as promised. Couldn't find any part numbers but if take a look on megazip you'll find what you need.

That indeed looks very similar to the fuel pump I switched over on my CROWN a few weeks back... If I am the guy to talk to I don't know but I have some bits here and there and am willing to help where I can. Nice CROWN, enjoy!

Lovely car, and I guess the engine is technically the great-grandfather of my lump - Toyota went through a lot of engine design in ten years!
