hi all, own a small daf and whilst the track rod ends are available overseas for what I personally think is a LOT of money, I was wondering if anyone had ever used those taper pins to convert track rod ends to rose joints? are they any good? does it work or does it make it all too stiff. Also what is the best way of measuring a taper?
thanks all !!

slightly off track but related none the less... i had a slightly slack drag link joint on my suzuki samurai and in the absence of a replacement i welded a (m12?) nut on the back of the joint and wound a bolt in against the plate. not an elegant solution but infinitely adjustable and the "fix" went on for 7 years.

yeha cant really be welding nuts to my existing ones as it will melt the nylon inserts inside them I suspect..
Ive emailed a company now who make the adapters to use rose joints in tapered holes as didnt fancy drilling them out as its all on such a small scale anyways

Contact Amsteer. They make such things....Much better option than rose joints. 😊

have heard back from a nice lady at Amsteer now, just waiting for a pair of new old stock joints to arrive from a mate and the old ones will be going to amsteer to see if its feasible to get a run made as they are common across the entire daf range
