1967 (F) VW Beetle 1200cc
Rolling restoration project. Starts, runs, drives, and stops but needs cosmetic attention.
Owned by my Dad for approximately 20 years, he had it restored and resprayed when he purchased (early 2000s). Used sporadically over the years by family members, but rarely used over the last 5 years or so, just taken for MOTs yearly.
Road tax is free and now registered as MOT exempt (using DVLA V112 form). Previous MOT history available online, reg: LTB989F. Chassis number 118 409 xxx is Nov 1967, vehicle first registered Jun 1968.
Originally a basic 1192cc 34bhp 6-volt model, converted to 12-volt electrics and heated front windscreen fitted around 2004. Dash shows just under 49k miles, MOT history in our ownership relates to that, not sure if that mileage is original or not.
For restoration it would need at least one heater channel on the drivers side, perhaps both, and both rear wings replacing. Front wings are ok (all wings are bolt on parts). Small floor section near battery needs repair possibly from leaking battery. Rear skirt (under engine cover) needs repair or replacement and general body work tidying.
Original interior in good order aside from drivers seat base being split and needing repair, it’s taped up in the photos. I don’t think it’s ever had the original steering wheel in our ownership unfortunately. I presume the radio is a little too modern to be original.
All good tyres, two replaced at last MOT (Aug 2017-2018).
