Your soundtrack this time round: So the original Acceptable In The 80's thread is a ghost town of broken internet links and photobucket skullduggery. Seeing as we have a paddock based on the images from that thread in the works for RR Weekender at Goodwood (16th and 17th May  ) I figured it needed a bit of a resurrection. Welcome to the Redux. Let's start with some stuff we can rescue from the original thread      Some suitable adverts from Reiger   Or maybe the bB Polo is more your style  Adverts are always a good source  Is this Tresser Audi still in the UK!?  Just a tiny taste, there is loads more out there to add, Sbarro madness, Koenig, Mattig, loads of 80's Mantas, the B289 VW scene, very 80's rods... what you got? |

Also, this is the most 80s video in the world.
It's exactly how the 80s were. Sunshine, a flat out Golf GTI racing an RS1600i on the Autobahn and a wobbly Madonna cassette soundtrack.
I wish could live in this video.
There are more of them on the channel, they're awesome.

 Spotted at a show on new years day and still looking crazy There's something about this that's so '80s, it's like how much more '80s can this be? And the answer is none. None more '80s. |

Wow that white thing (whatever it’s meant to be) clearly terrible photoshopped Delorean doors. I mean a Delorean is about as 80’s as it gets but.. really!!

I'm not sure which of these I've posted before so apologies if I repeat myself but they're all relevant here. Another Kat kitted Capri (or should I say Kapri?)  Textbook 80s street rod.  Really nice Cal Look Bug. This was considered low in the 80s before air bags and 20 degrees of camber became de-regeur for VWs  And the other side of the 80s 'Dub scene.  |

Somewhere I have a photograph from the '80s of a 283 Chev powered Mini and a 302 Chev (I think) powered Morris Minor running the standing quarter at Meremere. Fairly sure the Minor was road legal too although the Mini certainly wasn't. If I ever find the pic I'll post it.

Everything on that Astra is so wrong and yet I love it! 😂 +1. A school/college pal of mine had a fairly new (C-reg, IIRC) Astra 1.3 in that same bright red in the '80s, and I thought it was very advanced for its time - compared to my Minor Traveller and another mate's VW Beetle, that is. That one looks quite tastefully, albeit outrageously done. |

One of my favourite books when I was younger was "Dream Cars" which was published in 1986. It is not surprisingly stuffed full of 80s goodness. The standouts for me are The Koenig Boxer   Koenig Testarossa   Sbarro Gullwing BiTurbo  Styling Garage also did Gullwing SECs    And possibly oddest of all, the Vestatec Magnum, a 3 series with very Porsche like nose job   |
